I didn’t know what to expect. Due to weather, our flights were rescheduled but yesterday we received the great news that all was a go. The flight was simply amazing. The takeoff felt like an elevator and Todd is an excellent pilot. We saw a town from a new perspective. Mike was great also! I highly recommend. My advice is to be patient, follow directions, and enjoy the scenery.

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Hot Air Balloon Proposal

Hello, everyone! I believe many of you dream of experiencing a hot air balloon ride, right? Just like how Turkey is famous for its romantic skies filled with hot air balloons, I decided to propose to my partner on a hot air balloon. It was extra special because her mom was visiting the U.S. and could witness this memorable moment with us. I highly recommend hot air balloon rides here in Delaware! The entire experience was incredible, and their team was so kind. They even helped us record the proposal and held up the proposal banner for me—absolutely amazing service!

After booking online, I coordinated with Todd several times. I shipped the proposal banner to his address to keep it a secret, and he helped me receive it (thank you, Todd!). Originally, Todd recommended a morning flight since the wind is calmer, but because my partner is not a morning person, we opted for an afternoon flight, and it went perfectly!

The experience started with inflating the balloon. We got to help with the inflation process, which added to the excitement. Once the balloon was ready, we went inside for photos, and that’s when I started my speech. The proposal turned out to be a huge success—completely unexpected and very touching. Both my partner and her mom were in tears! I then brought out the prepared ring 💍, and Todd’s team helped take photos and held up the proposal banner for us—big thanks to them!

After the proposal, we officially took off! The afternoon flight was stunning, especially with the sunset 🌇. If you go in the morning, you’ll get to see the sunrise 🌅—both are breathtaking. During sunset, we enjoyed the autumn scenery with vibrant red and yellow leaves, creating a spectacular view. Since this was a proposal, I booked a private event for just the three of us. For non-special occasions, you can share the ride with others in a larger hot air balloon.

After landing, we had more time to take sunset photos while Todd’s team packed up the balloon. Since the landing spot was different from the takeoff point, Todd drove us back to our car. Then, we celebrated with a champagne toast! Since my partner and her mom don’t drink alcohol, we opted for orange juice instead. Todd even gave us a flight certificate, and the glasses for the toast had cute hot air balloon designs on them—you can even buy them as souvenirs!

Overall, this hot air balloon proposal was a wonderful experience. Todd is a very experienced pilot, and we felt completely safe flying with him. Todd is also super friendly and chatty, which made the experience even better. Huge thanks to Todd and his team for all their help. Highly recommend this to everyone!

What a great experience for my mom and I! Todd, our pilot, was very communicative, and kept us updated throughout the process.
