I moved to Covenant Living at the Holmstad less than 2 weeks ago. Holmstad is everything I had hoped for and much, much more! First of all, it is so well run, everything I needed was completed on time and without any effort on my part. All my needs have been anticipated beginning with my moving and packing needs. Once I moved the fantastic, hardworking, friendly staff provided all the information and services I need to live very comfortably here. I feel so well cared for and comfortable in my little cottage. Besides having well trained, committed staff the residents are friendly and eager to get to know me and help me integrate into the community. I anticipate many, many happy years ahead in this warm, friendly, well managed community.

My dad has been at Michaelsons for rehab for about a month now. He enjoys the people in the therapy department, the people that help him with the things he needs help with, and he really enjoys the food! He had lost quite a bit of weight in the hospital and has gained it all back :). The concierge, Vicki and Nicole, are always kind, the driver, Gary, is super dependable. The DON is very helpful as are the floor nurses and CNAs. I have slept well while my dad is in their care.

An updated review. Here is what I will say about any place like this. First stop often. Different days different times different meals. Second do full body check on your loved one often. Yes. Full. Third. Ask nurse to print meds being given. You have the right. They can stop. Add and change without telling you. Fourth. You can get second opinion by going to your own doctors. Or even emergency room. You must be their advocate and oversight

My Mom lived in an independent living apartment here for 10 years. It was the perfect size and location for her. She enjoyed the facility: pool, dining room/food, common areas for visiting and walking (which she did a LOT of!) and group activities like speakers/concerts/movies. Everyone is so friendly and helpful!
We also enjoyed visiting her here-spent many nights staying in guest rooms on the property. Always clean and well stocked, and SUPER friendly staff!

My dad lived here for more than 8 years, most of that time in an independent living apartment.

Rooms are spacious and upgraded on a regular schedule. Public spaces are nicely decorated and meticulously maintained.

Excellent initiatives to keep residents safe and healthy, such as extra cleaning when flu season impacts the campus.

My dad moved here from out of state to be closer to us as he aged. We were concerned about his transition, not having his own friends in the area. The staff introduced him to other residents with similar interests. He soon developed many close friends.

When he needed assisted living, and later skilled nursing, it really helped us both to have trusted staff helping with the transition into facilities on the same campus. He was always treated with compassion and respect.

My in-laws live here, as they have for many years. Every time we visit we fall more and more in love with the campus.

To say it's beautiful is an understatement.

Every bit of decor has been carefully chosen and you'll find that even the most remote corners in hallways haven't been forgotten.

I remarked to my husband that everything is so clean and fresh, I imagined it somewhat like a Disney park in that it somehow stays magically spotless. Kudos to their housekeeping staff for a job well done.

As guests, we've enjoyed fine meals in their lovely dining room, stopped by the Bistro for a snack and coffee, and worked out in the fitness facility.

There is a pool, a gift shop, a home store, a large craft space, woodworking room, library, and so much more. There are classes and activities and worship and concerts that anyone would be delighted to attend.

You'll find varying levels of care here, and having toured each with my mother-in-law, I can say honestly that I was moved to tears. The spaces are brightly lit, immaculate, and the staff are cheerful and attentive. The furnishings, decor and design are more than you might expect in an upscale hotel.

In short, it's a community full of life, beauty, and love.

Unfortunately my family and I had a pretty devastating and terrible experience with Michaelson’s HCC. My father and I were looking for continued rehab for my grandma. When we toured the facility everything was wonderful. We were told on the tour that a private room was available, they could help provide transport to dialysis, and they take Medicare & Medicaid. All of which were very important factors when we were touring a rehab facility. My father and I toured on a Friday, an official referral was sent to admissions by Monday. Diana in admissions was aware we needed a room on 8/21 and provided hesitation of concern that this would be an issue. Fast forward to today, Thursday at 3 pm, Diana calls and says she doesn’t have a bed available for my grandmother. The referral was sent 4 days prior and we were just now being notified?! It saddens me that we have many hoops to jump through- location, insurance, dialysis, etc. and Michaelson’s thought it was appropriate to call and ā€œdeny her due to bed availabilityā€ with 24 hours left to find a new location, dialysis, and transport. Michaelson’s, these are peoples lives you’re messing with. You’re leaving people with no options because of your poor communication and planning. Admissions KNEW we needed a bed, she had all of the information she needed to decide if they could take my grandma. And here we are scrambling trying to find care for my grandma with only 1 day to
Figure it out. No one deserves this amount of added chaos during an already very chaotic and stressful time. To Michaelson’s - DO BETTER, because people are depending on you.

Nice place, but the food really sucks, especially for the price of meal plans! Older adults don't like all the new phoofy millenial sh^t that young chefs prepare. Give them meat and potatoes, casseroles, meatloaf, standard veggies - corn, peas, squash, etc, and lots of fresh salads, AND SAUCES for the meal. And use some spices for God's sake! Most of the stuff the chefs make is DRY, Tasteless, Bland, and BORING. Don't believe me? WELL THEN, READ THE RESIDENTS THIS COMMENT AND JUDGE BY THEIR REACTIONS!
