We booked a room on BOOKING, saw it was pet-friendly, arrived at 10 p.m., and it turned out that cats aren't considered pets, so they weren’t allowed. Thankfully, we managed to negotiate and didn’t end up on the street. Since the hotel is new, we expected clean rooms, but a distinct stain on the carpet and a strange smell were an unpleasant surprise. It seems like the room wasn’t cleaned before our arrival, but who knows. Almost next to the hotel, there’s a nice place with tasty breakfasts and coffee, and a ski resort is not far away – that’s a plus.

We had a terrible experience at this hotel, and I cannot recommend it to anyone, especially pet owners.
When we arrived, we were shocked to be told that cats are not allowed, even though the hotel is listed as "pet-friendly" on Booking.com. Our booking confirmation clearly stated that pets are allowed—are cats not considered pets? We argued with the staff for over 20 minutes, pointing out that their own policy does not exclude cats. After much back and forth, they reluctantly agreed to check us in but handed us a paper saying there would be a $50 fee per night for our cat.
While we found that unreasonable, we decided to stay since we had no other options. However, what they conveniently failed to mention was an additional $250 "extra cleaning fee." This charge was never disclosed during check-in or in any of their policies that we were made aware of. To make matters worse, we only discovered this fee after we had already checked out when it was automatically charged to our card. This level of dishonesty is completely unacceptable.
Adding insult to injury, the hotel itself was far from clean. The room was dirty upon our arrival, which makes their so-called "extra cleaning fee" even more absurd. It is outrageous to charge guests for additional cleaning when basic cleanliness was not maintained in the first place.
Overall, this experience was beyond disappointing. Misleading policies, hidden fees, poor communication, and a lack of cleanliness made our stay a nightmare. I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel, especially if you are traveling with pets.

This hotel is super nice. As a travel nurse, I stay in a lot of hotels and after starting an assignment in Wausau, I had gone to a competitor but had never felt so unsafe in my life. This place is safe and well lit. I always check in after 10pm and it is always quick. The only thing I wish they had was a reduced rate for healthcare workers. Most hotels offer that but no one on the property seems to know anything about that. I am a choice member and use that to book but it would be nice to see reduced rates for healthcare providers as I’m there 4 days every other weekend. Breakfast is always good and hot.

Great stay. . . Friendly staff. Clean and well kept room, pool area, and common areas. Really great breakfast buffet, and appreciated it being open until 10:30 a.m. Plenty of parking. Near many restaurants and stores. I would recommend this hotel.

We booked a room trough Booking.com for 4 adults with pets, then at the front desk we were informed that cats are not allowed. After 20 minutes of arguing (since the email with booking says that PETS ARE ALLOWED) they agreed to check us in with the cat because it was almost 11pm and we had nowhere to stay over the night, moreover we were given the wrong information. They have additional $50 per day and once we checked out they charged us extra $250 „deep cleaning as they said” but room was not clean even when we moved in. Additionally, we signed that we agree with $50 charge per night, but never agreed to pay extra fee for cleaning, they have never informed us about that!

The overall hotel was clean. Our room was tidy and maintained upon check in and the service staff were polite and nice. However, what set this hotel stay apart from all others we've had was the breakfast attendant, I believe her name was Jeri. She was incredibly nice and very personable. While eating I watched as she made sure that each individual had what they needed and got it for them if they didn't. She answered questions if anybody had any and the entire time smiled. This could not have been an easy feat as many of the rooms were filled for a youth sport event so there were many kids running around, trying to eat and being corraled by parents. This was the first time in a hotel where the staff running the breakfast has ever engaged with us. Her personable and pleasant attitude not only helped reset a chaotic morning each morning but helped to set a good start to each day. She interacted with the kids as well as the adults and even when one of our kids forgot his phone down there, immediately returned it as she'd seen him with it earlier. I never realized how a simple interaction each morning could help set the tone for each day, but realize how many of my family's hotel stays have been missing this interaction. She did this all while keeping the food filled, fresh and areas cleaned. Please ensure this lady is recognized.

Positive: The breakfast attendent. Negative: First of all we were to have a queen room with queen beds. Room had double beds . When we asked for a little later check out for 1 instead of 12 because a member of our party was ill was rudely told no! Manager was very rude.

Front desk staff was very nice.
And the staff working the breakfast was great. The rooms could have been a little larger and better insulated from noise.
