Always a good time. Tried the winter run (always taken the summer rides, including the long one out to Fabayan-outstanding). Winter one in the weekend in March was a quick hour long ride. Staff was awesome, very cordial and friendly to the kids. Not much to see as we close out the ski season, but the dome car was worth it. This is a non touristy good value in a touristy town.

I enjoyed the train ride, and the views. I recommend the dome seats. There were great views all around the cabin. The ride wasn't very long, and was slow paced, but it allows you to take in the views. There are announcements that describe some of the sights, structures, rivers and mountains as you go by. There is a snack cart and restrooms on the train as well. I will say that teenagers may find it boring, but it's great for little ones!

A wonderful experience. Wasn't too crowded and the other riders were well-behaved.

The commentator was a little difficult to understand as the car we were in had a very low volume speaker. However what we DID hear was very informative so take notes as there will be a quiz at the end and if you don't pass, will have to assist in cleaning the cars at the end of the trip.

2 hot dogs and a bottle of Coke was $11.

The conductor and train man were very helpful and knowledgeable.

The first class seating was the most opulent and just felt good.

Give me a "thumbs up" if you like my review.

“A Scenic Journey Through Nature!”
What a beautiful experience! The Conway Scenic Railroad offers a relaxing ride with breathtaking views. The conductor provided an excellent narration, sharing fascinating details about the sights as the train moved along at a leisurely pace. There was plenty of time to soak in the scenery and capture great photos.

However, I recommend avoiding the Dome Car. The glass has a film that dulls the vibrant colors of the landscape, which was a bit disappointing. Additionally, it would have been nice if lunch had been included in the Dome Car experience to make it feel more special.

Overall, it’s a wonderful way to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Just choose your seat wisely!

Bought first class tickets as I thought my wife would like this one hour ride instead of sitting in coach. Very disappointed as we were expecting a much more scenic views then people's back yards etc. For the $$$ we spent it wasn't even worth the price of one ticket. I don't like talking or giving bad reviews but i do not recommend this ride. If you have kids they probably would enjoy just to be on the train. The staff at ticket booth and on train itself were great.

First-time rider on the Mountaineer coach out of Conway and wasn't sure what to expect....but we LOVED IT!! We took the November train ride, so we missed the leaves, but we got all the mountain views you wouldn't see if we went any earlier in the season... It's definitely a step back in time and a ton of history being narrated as you go along the rail... I would love to do this trip with snow on the ground to set the scenery in a winter wonderland.... the train has all beverages and snacks located in the snack car...best seats were on the right side facing the train station as that's the direction you start your ride. The ride back is just in reverse of were you came from.... would recommend if you enjoy the country side travel and scenery.

What a beautiful experience!
The conductor gave a thorough explanation of what we were seeing as the train move at a leisurely pace.we had plenty of time to capture photographs. My only recommendation is do not ride the dome car. You cannot see the beautiful colours because there is a film over the glass in the dorm and everything is dull, I feel they should have provided lunch in the Dome car.

Total waste of time. We drove 3 hours and were really looking forward to a festive ride with beautiful views of the White Mountains. For an hour and a half we had to sit at a tiny table facing this disgusting window (which we couldn't even see out of)! This was the DOME, premium seating. I'm not sure which is worse. The fact that they couldn't take the time to clean the window before the excursion (which was the 1st of the day) or the fact that the manager only saw fit to reimburse the difference between coach and premium seating (stating because we already took the ride on the train and that they "never offer full refunds unless the excursion for some reason was cancelled"). Such a disappointment. Never again. There are other railroad options we will do in the future. Had they made it right we may have found different seating or a different train and given it another chance in the future (but clearly they don't care). DEFINITELY won't make the mistake of booking a trip on the Conway "Scenic" Railroad again!

*And we were not going to make a scene about our seats on a full train with families and children (I'm quite sure there were no other seats available). We felt trapped in the corner looking at nothing but a disgusting window. I mostly sat there for an hour and a half in shock that we gave up our day to sit and stare at a dirty window right smack in front of us.
