4th of July, 2016. Rooms are quaint, but a little outdated. Personally I think it adds to the experience, what with the "The Way it Was" being a central theme of Virginia City. Staff are lovely older folks who get you what you need. Thank you!

We go to Virginia City pretty much every year around Halloween as it is a great town wide costume party. We always stay at the Comstock Lodge. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the owner, Randie, is very friendly and accommodating. She trays us like family! This year we brought along 5 other couples and we all had a nice stay. Place looks a little rough from the outside but don’t judge a book by it’s cover! The price is right and the rooms are very cozy and super CLEAN! We all recommend the Comstock!

Was not expecting to stay in Virginia city and called for a room late in the day. The owner was very warm and friendly and made me up a room quickly. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, the shower was hot and the bed was comfortable. The price made it even more pleasant. I plan to come back and stay again soon. Don’t pass up this little gem!

This little roadside lodge was perfect for a getaway. The owner is super friendly and takes great pride in how this place is run. The rooms are clean and very cozy. The room I had was fantastic. I haven't slept that good in a long time. This was a very welcoming experience.

A really nice, really clean place with lots of love from the owners. Randi went out of her way to get my room in order and cleaned every little corner. She was a woman of great grace and love, shown by the affection she extended to a little boy staying in one of the other rooms, affection shown to the stray orange tabby cat who found his way to the motel (but was NOT allowed in the rooms), and the care evident in each of the rooms. The whole family helped me plan my travel itinerary. Highly recommend.

We love The Comstock Lodge. We have stayed here lots of times. Family run, with a very homie feeling. It's like staying with family. The rooms are good size, clean and the beds are really comfortable. There is nothing like peace and quiet, when you are ready to turn in and you will get lots. Very reasonable pricing, and the hospitality is top notch. We love this place and think you will to.

Went in with reasonably low expectations, and left pleasantly surprised. ||||Pluses ... ||- Owners are pleasant and friendly. ||- Room was clean, quite spacious and quaintly decorated. ||- The fireplace in room #5 is a nice touch, and can be operated with or without heat for ambiance||- Parking was right outside our unit's door. ||- Quiet location||- Large king bed||||Minus ...||- bed wasn't the most comfortable, but the pillows were excellent. I know these folks are owner/operators on a budget (she even cleans the rooms herself), so perhaps egg-carton mattress toppers might be an alternative to add comfort without the expense of new mattresses?||||- walls are a bit thin, but our neighbors were quiet so it wasn't a problem||||- a bit of a walk to downtown Virginia City -- .4 mile to Cafe Del Rio (nearest restaurant); .6 mile to southern most shops; .8 mile to center of town. We like to walk, so it wasn't a problem for us, but would've been nice to be in the heart of town. Street lights do end a few blocks before reaching the Comstock, so be prepared if you're walking at night (we used our phone flashlights and were fine.)||||TIPS: Don't expect anything fancy (such as in room photos and wifi -- although we were told you can get wifi if you're near the front office), and cell coverage is sketchy - but you'll find that throughout Virginia City. Ask for a hair dryer at check-in if you think you'll need one, as they don't come standard in rooms. ||||Aside from that, can't really complain. Great value for the price ($60 on a Saturday night). Would definitely recommend the Comstock and stay there again.

Wife and I stayed at this place 1 night. We went up on a whim and glad we stayed here. The room was cozy and the owner was very kind and sweet. The room was very cute. We loved the decor and reminded us of visiting a mountain cabin. This hotel is not known for its technology/ WiFi/ or large big screen tv. But that’s not why we stayed there. They had complimentary coffee in the room. Overall the stay was very pleasant.
