One of the most professional operated City Halls I have ever seen. Very clean with very kind personnel running the office. Even the law enforcement in Wells Nevada are friendly and eager to assist any one in the City of Wells or in the County of Elko Nevada. Drive Safe!!!

Wells was originally on the California trail with passage westward in covered wagons . The city as directly at the location where the California Trail and the Humboldt river joined. The wagon trains came through this location until the coming of the railroad. In 1869 the Union Pacific Railroad established a station in Humboldt Wells (now Wells). The station contained a boxcar station office, a Wells Fargo and a saloon

Today Wells has a population over 1,300 and elementary and high school.

Most people just know the 4 way Casino stop at the highway. Most people are either crossing through or are here to hunt, fish or camp in the beautiful Ruby Marshes.

There is still a small portion of The California Trail that pioneers traveled on that you can see near Thousands Springs Valley.
