This little place was so great! We stayed in the Sunflower Cottage. It was super cute! Everything was just what we needed. We got an Uber from the airport, and didn’t rent a car. There is a free trolley that takes you up and down the entire island all day and night, with a stop just steps away from our cottage. We got dropped off at the Publix just down the road, got breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks to have in the room, then we went out for dinner. SALT just down the street is fantastic and they have a really pretty outdoor area. Our other favorite place was Bamboo Island Bar. Great place and atmosphere with yummy food and drinks. Harry’s has a nice outdoor area too. We went there for breakfast and it was very reasonably priced compared to other places and has delish Bloody Mary’s. The staff at Cedar Cove were great! The beach is never crowded, because as they explained to us: there is no public parking area and you can’t park on the street. It was a fantastic trip.

The beach is beautiful - quiet with loungers and umbrellas waiting for you. Room has everything you could need. What set this resort apart was their customer service. We had a small issue with our hot water. Despite calling at 8:30pm the owner/manager came with in 15 minutes to fix the issue. He was polite and professional despite the late hour. The mark of a great resort is not never having any issues but rather the manner in which an issue is dealt with. Cedar Cove did a great job and we can’t wait to stay again!

I would like to thank the staff at Cedar Cove for making our stay so enjoyable. We are so happy to see that Cedar Cove continues to update, upgrade, and maintain the property. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. I love the kitchens! There were 3 of us this time and so we converted the hideaway bed couch. She said it was very comfortable. Anna Maria Island is beautiful. Great restaurant choices. Cedar Cove will continue to be our choice. They provide lounge chairs, beach towels, and even an outdoor bathroom! We had a wonderful stay and hope to be back to Cedar Cove soon!

Cedar Cover is nestled in the center of Holmes beach. Quiet beach area, free chairs and towel service. Excellent service with check in and out. Quick walk or drive to restaurants, and grocery store. Excellent food at every restaurant. Cottages are very clean and really comfortable. We will definitely be back to see Eric and the rest of the staff! Loved it!!!

I was amazed that this place was up and running 100% after the storms. We had a last second project at the house, and we rented a room for a couple of days while we had construction. The staff was very understanding, and found a way to cram us in the same room for consecutive nights. The private beach area was beautiful, and the room had a great breeze. The internet was solid and the beds were very comfy. We loved it.

Mama tried this hotel and it was not a fit, but I give all my stays 5 stars if they show effort and kindness. For more details continue reading below!

This was my first visit to Ana Maria Island. I did not have a hotel recommendation and did not know the are. I would not return to Cedar Cove Cottage and here’s why:
- It’s about 3 miles from the island center on Pine Street with cute shops and restaurants. We walked there along the beach. That ended up being super fun, but not for everyone. If we return I would stay off of Pine.
- Our room was small and tired. It was advertised as ā€œgarden viewā€ but should really be ā€œparking lot view.ā€ We had one small window, that we had to leave the blinds down because it’s on the walkway leading to other rooms. The AC unit is loud, this was a good discovery, at first, because it drowned out the road noise. It turns on and off as it cycles, also very loud, so we had to turn it off when we fell asleep. The remote to our fan didn’t work, so the ceiling fan was on or off, not able to adjust the speed. There was no switch to the bathroom fan, thus no bathroom fan. You can also hear a lot of noise and the hum of conversations from the rooms around. The walls are very thin.
- Assigned parking. Our room came with a dedicated parking spot. Sounds good in theory, if the hotel was full, but resulted in me having to reverse onto a busy road each time, and other more friendly spots were open. I was assigned a spot right on the other side of the road sign. Returning from dinner the guy next to me parked so close I almost couldn’t fit between him and the sign. I also had to pull out in the opposite direction, that I actually wanted to drive, and turn around because it was almost impossible to back across two lanes of traffic.
- To many emails. This hotel sent many emails with rules and cancellation policy and check in details and late night check in details, anything after 4:30 pm. I know that these rules and emails can come from past guests taking advantage, but coming from a ā€œgoodā€ guest, it feels very defensive in nature.
- Extra charges. If you want a mid-stay cleaning $50, if you want more then 2 coffee pods for your entire stay $15. If you don’t take your beach towel back to the office at checkout $25 a towel. If you want to rent a golf cart or beach cabana . . . You see what I mean.

On the other hand, the staff was friendly and our room was clean. I was not grossed out by our room, but it lacked any charm other than the teal toaster on the counter which quit frankly, looked out of place.

This hotel was not for Mama, but happy I Tried a few nights on this charming island. This area has been through a lot with the recent hurricane. Glad we visited.

Beautiful water views, private, extremely helpful and gracious staff. No car needed as the trolley runs all day and is free. Our room was large and clean. They supply beach towels and chairs, bikes and a small shop for drinks and snacks. All local restaurants are on the trolley route or can walk. We will definitely return for another relaxing trip. Thanks to Eric and Amy for their hospitality.
