We absolutely loved this cabin. It was perfect for 4 adults. They are absolutely beautiful inside. It’s in a nice quiet area far enough away from town but close enough to make a quick run into town. We had great communication with our hosts when we were there and check in/out was a breeze. We are all looking forward to another stay there!!

Absolutely perfect! Everything was spotless & our cabin was stocked so thoughtfully. The view of the ponds & covered bridge was beautiful! We stayed in Cabin 4A, perfect for 2 - we loved it & would definitely stay there again. Janet was great as well. Stay here, you won't be disappointed!

We stayed for two nights in cabin 6 which is located away from the other cabins in a residential neighborhood. It's not updated and the whirlpool tub which is advertised on the website does not work which was a reason we booked cabin 6. The grill also isn't functioning properly. It gets warm but never got enough to cook anything. The kitchen tiles are broken in one area, the wifi isn't even worth trying. Finally, the beds were painfully uncomfortable. They are so firm that you wake up in pain. I liked the idea of the cabin and the setting wasn't terrible but I thought it was by the lake and it wasn't. I really wanted to love the cabin and I've read good things about cabins 1-5 but I'd avoid cabin 6.

We stayed in Cabin 4. It was an absolutely perfect cabin for a relaxing getaway. The swimming and fishing ponds on site were terrific and the scenery was just as great. The cabins were much more spacious than imagined for the price and were fully stocked with literally everything in the kitchen we could think of needing. Janet was such a wonderful hostess and very helpful with suggestions and recommendations.

Above and beyond: We loved the dollar hunt! I hope this tradition between guests continues forever! - There's a small notebook with clues for finding a dollar within the cabin. Each of our boys left a clue for a dollar because they loved looking for it so much.

We chose this cabin after looking for months unsuccessfully for a cabin near the Shawnee National Forest - Garden of the Gods (also remarkable). I am so glad we did because the amenities here seem to far outweigh those that we saw when we drove down for our hiking.

Small critiques: The queen bed in cabin 4 wasn't terrific - it was super hard. The wifi was spotty at best. This being said, we'll definitely be back and are already planning our next getaway and recommending to all our friends and family. This coming from a family that hardly stays in 2 places twice.

I can't recommend this place highly enough! We stayed here in May as a couple and again in August with our 5 children, aged from 5 up to 13. Everyone had a blast! The cabins are spacious, decorated beautifully, and stocked with everything you could possibly need to have a comfortable stay. The swimming hole is so pretty and has a beach entry, a rope swing, and a slide. The property manager, Janet, is really friendly and helpful. The cabins each have their own balconies, grills, and fire pits. You will not regret a weekend getaway to this place.

We reserved cabin #2 for a family weekend getaway and had a wonderful time! The cabin was clean, modern, had an equipped kitchen, and a beautiful view. Our son spent most of his time going between the fishing pond and the swimming pond. The fish bite best with bread... hint, hint. We definitely plan on coming back to visit again!

We've stayed at many Southern Illinois vacation rentals through the years and have a couple of favorites that we've returned to again and again. On our last scheduled trip, our favorites were unavailable which led me to taking a chance on someplace new to us: Cabins on Indian Creek. I was a little suspicious at first because having booked Cabin #2 directly through their website, the check-in procedures do seem a little old-fashioned (i.e., you have to present your drivers license and credit card used at booking again when you check-in and basically complete all of the information on a sign-in sheet from the manager - kind of like the old-school hotels/motels). We are accustomed to the modern-day check-in of simply receiving a door code and no need to check-in with a manager. However, this was a small quirk in the long run - the manager promptly greeted us at the cabin immediately upon our arrival and got us all settled in. She even leaves a little loaf of banana bread, which was a nice touch. After that, we never had interactions with the management again and were left to our complete privacy. The Cabin - Cabin #2 which is actually adjacent to the office, but quiet and private - is beautiful and immaculately clean. It looks like new really, with wonderful, comfortable furnishings and more than ample space for 4 guests. We were impressed really because it doesn't look that large from the outside but the bedrooms are large and comfortable and separated by the living space so 2 couples can have their privacy. The cabin comes equipped with everything you need (except a few more pots would be helpful, but it wasn't a big deal). They even provide ample firewood, a gas grill, and as others have described, the grounds are beautiful and so well maintained. There is a swimming hole with a rope swing and slide, a little beach, decking with chairs and tables, a fishing hole with kayaks/boats and a basketball area. Lots for everyone to do and peaceful surroundings for a relaxing getaway. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and will definitely rent from this place again. Highly recommended.
