We were already verified back in 2017 with the BBB and had an A+ rating. We non renewed because of COVID-19 and because we only received residential cleaning inquiries. We are a commercial cleaning business only. A few months back we had an opportunity to bid on a contract with a business. They wanted to do business with a BBB verified business. We submitted a request. After two weeks we followed up because we hadn't heard back. Shortly after the business we were hoping to bid on moved on and decided to use another cleaning company. A month and a half later we received a letter that we did not meet the standards to be accredited. The reason being that the principal contact (Jason Parent) was found to have engaged in previous criminal activity involving a previously co-owned business in 2015. Again, we were never called, emailed, and or contacted in anyway before this letter. To be clear Jason Parent is a common name. It just so happens that Jason Parent who resided in York, Maine was the co-owner of the Meat House Businesses that were in Dover, Portsmouth, Bedford, and elsewhere. This individual was found guilty. In 2015 I was working for AAA insurance in Portsmouth, NH. I lived with my at the time girlfriend in Salem, Raymond, and Manchester, New Hampshire. I purchased a two family in Manchester, NH. When I called and spoke to the owner she said they do research to determine eligibility. Clearly they don't check, Facebook, Instagram, public records, prior BBB accreditation, and or even attempt to contact the business to clarify before sending out a the letter. In order for us to become accredited I now need to prove that I am in fact Jason Parent and not Jason Parent the scum bag who was found guilty for stealing funds that were supposed to go to veterans. My research only took five and a half minutes. Why this is truly concerning and why this should be troubling for business owners is that the BBB Clearly doesn't do any extensive research on new or possibly existing businesses. If a business has a complaint placed against them it must take forever to either have it removed or resolved if it's in error. The BBB wants Businesses to approach all business dealings, marketplace transactions, and commitments with integrity. This mustn't apply to the BBB in Concord, New Hampshire.

BBB helped dispute my case with Shaw Academy.I think communicating through BBB puts some pressure on the company and prompts them to act more quickly. They initially refused to refund my subscription fee and offered a six-month package for free . I was able to turn that offer down through BBB and submit a second message inquiring a refund. This time it was approved. I am truly grateful for the platform BBB provides to facilitate the negotiation between business and customers. While I will certainly be more careful in the future subscribing to free trials, it does feel better to have someone at my back.

I've been having problems trying to communicate with a dental service for several weeks over a procedure for my wife. While we had a firm quote (which did not rely on insurance) and paid in full the day of the service, we continued to get "additional" bills (several hundred dollars extra) and overdue notices - with no explanation. I might add that since I was the spouse and not the client, I had to go through a process to ensure that I was authorized (by my wife) to have access to her health records even though the discussion was only about the reason for additional billing. However, after going through the process, the business still did not provide a single response (three phone calls and one certified letter over a six week period) with an explanation as to the reason for the additional billing (but they had no problems sending an overdue notice). I finally resorted to the BBB. For some reason, I was not able to fill out the online form (got to the end but the final SUBMIT button would not work). I called instead and got a very friendly and helpful response. I was emailed the form, which I filled in, and emailed it back to the person that helped me. He then confirmed receipt and later called to let me know that they would try to get this resolved shortly. It took only three days and I received acknowledgement that the dental service "removed" the additional charge but still was not given an reason as to why the charge was put there. I am assuming it was an error and they couldn't admit that they made the mistake to me. I went to the BBB since I was concerned the dentist would submit the "overdue bill" for collection (based on the overdue notices and lack of response) and having to live that nightmare. Thankfully, the BBB got a copy of an invoice from the dentist saying my bill was "paid in full" - something I could not get directly from the dentist. I am very thankful to the BBB for their help.

Very disappointed at Savers in Nashua. If I could give zero stars I would. I frequent this place and other savers often. Sometimes they are over priced but I pay the price cause that’s just how things are. However on march 19, 2023 I went into the Nashua branch where they had a box of jewelry marked for 9.99. I inquired if this was the right price they said we have to check we will get back to you about 20 minutes later the lady came back and said yes it is 9.99 and put a sold sticker with my name. I said I would just finish up shopping and then check out. Five minutes later same lady came back and told me that another manager wanted to over ride the price and would now being selling it for $150. I would stay clear of this place if you don’t want to be fleeced. I will be calling corporate and the Better Business Bureau in Monday. This company should be ashamed I have been a loyal customer for years and this is just in bad taste. Sincerely Megan Northup

BBB was extremely helpful in resolving my issue with Shaw Academy. After several weeks of me sending email after email, and either being ignored or denied the refund, BBB was able to resolve my refund in one email. I would highly recommend reaching out to them if you’re having a problem with a business. They’re an unbiased voice for the consumer who feels helpless. Thank you BBB for your fast acting, professional assistance and service.

BBB was very instrumental in resolving the financial dispute I had with Shaw Academy. I reported the case for refund here and got my refund 5 days later. I have had a great first impression and I will definitely recommend BBB to others. Thank you so much BBB for the prompt handling and positive resolution of the dispute.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND I have had 2 companies deny me legitimate refunds (one charged a $60 "restocking" fee, one auto-charged my credit card without notification for something I did not want), both with with multiple contacts on my part to attempt to resolve. One trip to the BBB and both disputes were resolved. It is truly amazing.

I bought something from a merchant online, unaware that once they had my credit card number, they would continue to send me products I hadn't ordered, and bill me for them. I reviewed the company's profile on the BBB website, and saw that other consumers of the same product met with the same fate, but that all BBB complaints against this merchant had been resolved.to the consumers' satisfaction. I filed a complaint. Within a week, I was telephoned by a company representative, who offered me a satisfactory solution. I have to say, their written response to the BBB was somewhat dishonest, but they did refund my money and suspend their trial on approval program. A rapid and effective solution was provided by the BBB, I am completely satisfied and fully recommend consumers using their service to solve problems with businesses.
