Barn Door Hostel is an absolute gem! Dave and his entire team are truly amazing—they've created a warm, welcoming community in a beautifully designed space. You’ll leave feeling uplifted and inspired! This is hands down the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at, with exceptionally clean rooms, showers, and kitchen—all radiating positive energy. Don’t miss a chance to experience this place! Every visit feels like an adult summer camp, with unique events and activities that make it harder and harder to leave each time. Can’t recommend it enough!

Discovered this gem this week. A lot of attention was put in the details of this place. we camped there two nights and we loved it. The free hot showers were really nice. Fair prices and not too far from the crags. will definitely go back next time and will recommend to friends. The thing we hoped for was more tree cus depending on where you plant your tent, morning sun feels like a greenhouse. Other than that no comments.

Lovely little place in a great location in the White Mountains. Ideal place for hikers and "through" hikers to spend a few nights when passing through.
I booked in the Room 10, 10 Bunks, sleeps 10. Beds are comfortable dressed with clean linen.
2 shared gender showers are very appreciated after a good hike, and 3 closed toilet stalls, it lacks total privacy, but it beats going "outside" in an outhouse when camping. Must be comfortable sharing your intimacy with strangers.
Lovely shared common areas. Functional kitchen for cooking a good meal. Coffee in the morning for everyone and breakfast for "through" hikers.

My partner and I absolutely fell in love with the Barn Door Hostel and Campground. We want to thank Dave, his wife, their baby, and all the staff for the amazing hospitality. Some friends recommended this spot to us, and we’re so glad they did. This place is a haven for climbers (or anyone stopping in Rumney, really). It features an outdoor spray wall, several relaxing areas, and a river where you can cool off. There’s a water bottle refilling station, clean facilities, and even an outdoor hot shower. We only stayed in the campground area as we passed through in our camper truck, but the hostel looks amazing as well. There’s even a bus converted into a little house. On top of all that, Goose, the owner’s dog, is super charming. It’s a dog-friendly place, which we loved. Needless to say, we will definitely be going back soon.

Can't say enough great stuff about this place! It's a beautiful peaceful setting, gorgeous artistic open space inside, and a perfect combo. of places to quietly relax and chill- while also having a communal experience at meals, movies, etc., if you want it. The staff are phenomenal- friendly, resourceful, and super helpful with anything you may need- they really went the extra mile for me, when I thru-hiked in from the A.T. and my dog was hurt. The location is a little bit out of the way, but they easily shuttle you from the trailhead and into town, and there is one general store and one brewery within walking distance. 10 out of 10 recommend!

Great spot to crash! Comfy beds, nicely kept and well-appointed common area, and absolutely fantastic showers. Seriously, the showers alone are worth the price of admission. I stayed in a double room (bunk beds) and, aside from being in the small side (don't bring lots of luggage), it was great: comfy, quiet, private, easy to access. Very climber friendly and close to the crag.

I will absolutely stay again next time I'm in Rumney.

A pleasant place to while away the days. Dogs, nice people, coffee bunk beds and books. You may not know where you’re going or what you’re seeking, so you may feel like rock climbing or sitting by a fire till you figure it out; well maybe Barn Door will give you the space to do that or at least get your mind on the right trail as it does for those who feel the ineffable vibe waiting behind those doors.

We went to the outdoor festival, There were a lot of great people, great Vendors, great Music. Dave and his staff were amazing. Barndoor Hostel is a dog friendly location. They have added a outdoor shower, climbers workout area and a filtered bottle fill station.
