Just took our second trip to Africa with African Safaris & Travel and couldn't recommend them any more highly!! Louis knows absolutely everything about Africa, the safari lodges, which animals you will see at each one, the staff at the lodges, the accommodations, the food, you name it. He tailors your trip specifically to what YOU want to see and do, the size of your group, the time that you have, etc. This is our second trip with them and we've already referred them to two of our friends who will be setting up trips with them. My husband and I went with our 3 adult kids, their spouses and our 7 grandchildren who are ages 6 - 16 (group photo show at Thornybush with our AMAZING guides and staff). Truly is a trip of a lifetime for anyone of any age, made that much better by having a such a knowledgeable company efficiently organize every detail for you!

We have booked two wonderful trips from African Safaris and Travel. Louis walked me through the first trip, 4 nights in Capetown with 3 days of fantastic excursions. @ nights at Victoria Falls followed by a 7 day safari in Kenya and a 7 day safari in Tanzania. Everything was flawless, there was not one thing that went wrong. We followed this up 8 years later with a personalized group trip, accompanied by Louis and his wife and four other couples to Zimbabwe followed by a stay at the Governor's camp in the Masai Mara. Again all of the arrangements were superb. There was one hitch as Kenya Airlines cancel our flight in Harare, Zimbabwe. Louis, while we all waited at the airport, quickly got us last-minute hotel arrangements and transportation to and from the hotel. The sign of a great travel host/consultant is the ability to make on the spot adjustments when something goes wrong -- like a cancelled flight.

We could not recommend them any higher. It would be a mistake not to use this group.

Louis Von Tonder put together an amazing Botswana safari for me and 5 others. Every detail was taken care of and it was the most glorious vacation I have ever had. Louis answered everyone one of my emails....and there were a lot! I had a ton of questions and Louis patiently answered each and everyone. He knows Africa and has been to the lodges he recommends and thus can give honest details about the lodge, staff, food, vehicles, accommodations, when the best time of the year is to go. We loved every single moment of the trip that Louis organized and literally once we arrived off the plane, everything was taken care of and all we had to do was enjoy ourselves. Louis created a trip that allowed us to be in luxurious lodges without a luxury price that American travel companies charge. I would definitely recommend Louis Von Tonder African Safaris and Travel.
