Yavapai Lodge - Grand Canyon Village, Arizona

We stayed here for a few nights during our stay at the Grand Canyon and really enjoyed it! Definitely worth the price (and the price for us actually ended up being pretty similar to options outside the park). Staying in the park was extremely convenient especially since we were a larger group--it allowed us to split off easily, since we had one rental car and the shuttle service was extremely easy to use within the park and runs really long hours. The main check-in lobby/dining area was beautiful, so charming and cozy and really nicely decorated. And the food at the dining hall and attached restaurant was shockingly delicious. We most often got the breakfast buffet and dinner buffet type meals, which when combined with the "bottomless" fruit and oatmeal bars (breakfast) and salad bar (dinner) ended up being a great value financially as well. I had very low expectations for a dining hall setup but was consistently surprised and very impressed. The food at the attached restaurant was surprisingly great as well. As for the lodge building and rooms, I was really pleasantly surprised as well. I was expecting them to be musty, run down, etc., but they were clearly very recently renovated and in great shape. The room we stayed in was very nicely set up, extremely clean, smelled great, and was well equipped (soaps, shampoos, linens, etc.). The only recommendations I have are to provide some more user-friendly shelf/counter space in the bathroom, to ensure the mini fridges are working properly (ours wasn't as cold as it should have been even after turning it down), and...that's it! Otherwise we were thrilled with our experience and would definitely stay there again in a heartbeat. Staying in the park made it feel like a fun adult summer camp type of experience and we really enjoyed it.

Great place to stay at the Grand Canyon. It’s not right on the rim, but is convenient to many different views of the canyon, especially since we didn’t mind a 10 minute walks. It’s in a pretty area in the woods with many fewer people around. Our family appreciated the room with 2 queens and 2 twin beds. Amenities were basic.

We took the long way home from a work trip so we could stay the night at the Grand Canyon. We travel with our rescue pup, which often makes it difficult to find a place to stay. We were thrilled to find a pet friendly room at the Yavapai Lodge. The room was good, bed was comfortable. We arrived on March 1st, which turned out to be the perfect time since the weather was great that weekend but not the week before or after.

The only real issue we encountered was that we planned our travel so that we could check in at check in time, put our bags and pup in the room, and go see the Grand Canyon before our dinner reservation. When we arrived, our room wasn’t ready so they told us to wait 20 minutes. When we checked back in 20 minutes, it still wasn’t ready and told us to check back in 30 minutes. Despite us being patient and understanding of the delays, the team members at the front desk were far less than polite and professional. By the time our room was ready an hour and a half later we didn’t have much time to see the sights. Parking was also pretty bad. We had to park in a different parking lot than the one designated for our room and find our way to our room in the dark. It would be great to have at least one parking spot per room, but they don’t.

Although it is dog friendly it should be noted that the dog crate provided was considerably smaller than what was shown online and there was no way our 80lb dog would fit in there. It wasn’t an issue for us, because he does better without a crate, but might be an issue if you’re expecting to be able to use it.

All in all it was a good experience and we would stay here again with adjusted expectations.

Great lodge. Was one of the only options available when we booked but it was 100% worth it. Great location near some great lookouts. Spent sunset and sunrise at Yavapai lookout and felt like it was one of the best views in the park. The room was nice and the bed was very soft and comfortable. Very attentive staff and responded quick with any questions. We Highly recommend this lodge!

I was looking for a good deal on a hotel room in the park for my dad and I and this was the perfect place! My dad was a bit disappointed it’s a mile away from the rim, but it’s a quick bus or car ride away. However if you’re there during the busiest part of the year it’s going to be hard to find parking. We went in early May and still had to park a little further away and walk over to the village at the rim. The room itself was lovely! We were in the newly renovated west side of the lodge and enjoyed our stay. I recommend this place if you’re looking to stay in the park and on a budget

Our stay was comfortable. We stayed at the West lodge when you want to park outside your room and you’re only steps away from your door. Very convenient if you have a lot of luggage and stuff. Either you’re staying in East or West lodges, you must first check in at the main building where the restaurants are.
The rooms are quiet and you can’t hear your neighbors but maybe because they’re not noisy at all or because the walls between the rooms are not made of drywalls.
The exuberant price for your stay is just for convenience being in the park but there’s no guarantee that your room will be ready by the time you check in like what happened to us.

Great lodge, clean and customer service oriented. Elk and deer roam freely, remember they're wild so keep your distance. The staff are amazing, the rooms are very clean and the king bed was very comfortable. The bathroom could use a refresh, but hey it's a lodge right, so you want that rustic feeling. Had the buffet breakfast for $20, it was worth the money and they piled on the eggs, bacon, sausages and potatoes. I had to ask them to stop.

The location in Grand Canyon is fantastic, but it's not esay to find teh rooms iy you arrive during the night. You have to go with your car, It's imposible to reach your room walking from the reception because of the darkness; It's not so bad, you can see the stars. There was some noise because of the heater-machine. The bathroom smells not very good. The information from the reception was not very complete, perhaps a map with the locations of the rooms would be useful. At breakfast and dinner-time, the dining room was absolutely full, with long lines. There was so much noise in the bar, cafe and dinning room that it was difficult to understand anything, specially for the people as I, whose English is not enough good. I would recommed to all people who stay in this hotel to enjoy the marvelous Grand Canyon as much as possible, from sunrise to sunset, and spend time as little as possible in the hotel itself. It's possible to buy food in the supermarket in front of the reception. The room and the beds are big and comfortable, the bathroom is improvable. In my opinion, the price is too high, but you are paying for the fantastic location into the Grand Canyon National Park, not for the quality or comodities of the hotel.
