While the hotel is mostly nice, the beds are very hit or miss. I got a double queen room. Once bed was amazing.. one was obviousLy worn out or broken with a massive dip in the middle so it slept like the bed was a taco. There is no way the cleaning folks didn't notice it when they were cleaning the room. Also, there is very little sound absorbing in the rooms.. I heard every conversation of people walking by at 2 am, walking up stairs, heard the helicopters like they were in the room next door. If you just want a good night's sleep, I'd suggest elsewhere. If you want all the other amenities, maybe it's a good place to stay.

The Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel is located in Tusayan, Arizona. One thing I wish I had known when I booked the hotel is that it is NOT at the Grand Canyon. The only accommodations you can reserve at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon are actually INSIDE the National Park, which seems logical but it was a piece of the puzzle I didn’t have when I booked my family’s trip. You can’t stay at this hotel and walk to the Grand Canyon. There is no view of the Grand Canyon. You’re still a 15-minute drive from parking at the Visitor’s Center and then you will need to walk a bit before you even see the Grand Canyon.

Having said that, the hotel itself is fairly typical. The room we reserved was nice, though the coffeemaker didn’t work and the shower pressure was very low. The hotel has a nice lobby where there is a restaurant we didn’t visit. No breakfast is provided because they want you to eat at the restaurant and pay dearly for it. We chose to bring our own breakfast and purchased coffee and other meals once inside the Grand Canyon National Park. (The Harvey House at Bright Angel Lodge has wonderful food.)

The staff at the hotel was courteous and helpful, though there was a language/accent barrier with one at the front desk. I wouldn’t even mention it, except I was left a bit confused and we had to seek help elsewhere, which was an added inconvenience.

Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel is a great choice for travelers looking for comfort and convenience near one of the world’s most iconic destinations. The hotel offers good rooms that are spacious and well-maintained, providing a comfortable stay after a long day of exploring.

The location is excellent, with easy access to the Grand Canyon and surrounding attractions. One of the standout features is the exceptional front desk service—staff members are welcoming and always ready to assist. The travel desk provides valuable guidance to locations, helping guests make the most of their visit.

A nice added perk is the 24-hour free coffee machine, which is perfect for early risers heading out for a sunrise view of the canyon. Overall, Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel offers good accommodations, great service, and excellent support for travelers.

My family and I really loved how the hotel is set up. You enter from the outside, but everybody has an indoor balcony that you access through the back door of your room. There were all sizes of trees in the indoor area that provided more privacy, along with a hot tub and bar area. That bar was not open when we were there, but there were many seats too, sit and talk on the first level. The staff is very kind and helpful. The outdoor pool was closed for the season while we were there so I don’t have an opinion about that. They provide a really great breakfast but it’s not free. It is very affordable though. The buffet was about $12. You can’t even eat at McDonald’s for that in that town. Ultimately, we had a really good time and didn’t spend a ton of money. If you are looking for a cost-effective place to stay to see the south rim of the Grand Canyon, this is a number one pick in my opinion. It is only a five minute drive to the south entrance of the Grand Canyon national Park.

Great location, few minutes away from the entrance of the Grand Canyon national Park. It’s perfect to drive in and out of the park if you wanna catch an early sunrise and not have to pay extra dollars to stay inside the park. The front desk folks were kind enough to offer us an extra hour after the checkout time. further, on our final day we got delayed because we spent longer than anticipated time in the national park and it was already dark. By the time we left the Grand Canyon national Park. I heard elderly parents traveling with me and we did not have many restaurants I had carried food. Thankfully, the ladies at the reception were so kind that they allowed us to check into a room for 30 minutes to heat up food and enjoy a quick dinner before we could drive back to Phoenix. God bless them.

Positive: The best thing about this hotel was the location. It?s about as close to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon as you can get without camping or staying at the lodges inside the National Park. That is the primary reason why I would say ?yes, I recommend.? Negative: The coffeemaker didn?t work, there was no breakfast provided, and there was no decent view. Our suite looked out on a blind alley.
