I called last minute to see if they had a room available for the night, and to my luck, they did. This place is one of the best places that I have stayed at for the price while up in the white mountains. The hosts really make you feel like you are at home. The rooms are perfect size, clean, and comfortable. My room had a nice little bathroom and full-size bed. They have a common living room downstairs with couches, a gas fireplace, games, coffee/hot chocolate, and hiking books for inspiration. In the morning, you come downstairs to the sitting area for breakfast. You get to choose between one of the fresh made muffins they have available that day, coffee or tea, and if you want a small bowl of fresh fruit. Then you choose between pancakes, waffles or crepes. They seem to rotate which fruits and other things they have available to put in the pancakes, waffles, or crepes. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a great place to stay while up in the White Mountains.

This is a wonderful place to stay! The location is very convenient to local shops and attractions. The accomodations are cozy and clean, their smallest room (the RI room) has a low ceiling but was still comfortable. I highly recommend the blueberry pancakes for breakfast, the best I've had! The common areas are spacious and comfortable, they also have a nice selection of games available. I will definitely make this my first choice when I visit again.

Arrived 9/14 late in the day. Our key was on the desk with arrival notes, times for breakfast etc. We quickly dropped our bags in our room (7, 1st floor of B&B) and walked into town. So refreshing after a long day of driving, we sat outside for dinner, walked a bit local shops and stores, and walked to watch the sunset on the river, sat on the rocks. Perfect 1st day. Breakfast lovely, location easy to flume, Loon, Cog Railway.....

I happened to stumble upon this wonderful B&B while researching places to stay in the Whites. We weren't sure what to expect, and were more than pleasantly surprised. We stayed 3 nights in early May, and while it was chilly outside, the welcoming fireplace and their hospitality (among many other things!) really made our stay one of the best experiences I've ever had.

The owners are WONDERFUL - personable, friendly, gave great recommendations for things to do in the area, and went out of their way to make us feel at home.

The inn is beautiful inside and out, and you can clearly see the care and hard work being put into it by the owners from the fresh gardening outside, to the mats for muddy hiking boots in the foyer. 🙂

Rooms were very clean, beds were comfortable, and despite the many other guests staying there, our stay was extremely peaceful and quiet - honestly quieter than most of my hotel experiences.

The food is DELICIOUS, and the portions are perfect for a long day of adventuring. Most days, we really didn't need lunch! Every morning we had our choice of breakfast, from eggs our way, to pancakes our way (HIGHLY recommend) or crepes our way. Always served with smile, a hot cup of coffee, juice, muffins for two and a big bowl of fresh fruit. They even added a birthday candle to my pancakes! 🙂

This is without question one of the best vacations I've had in a while - so relaxing and pleasant the whole time.

Another great weekend at the Wilderness Inn. We had a relaxing stay in the Alaska room which includes a 4 poster bed, bunkbeds in a separate room for kids and an enclosed porch. There's a propane fireplace for chilly nights and a big tub to soak in.

Perfect location for exploring the White Mountains. Only a few minutes from Flume Gorge. We stayed in the Maine room. It was spacious, fresh and clean. Breakfast was wholesome and filling (as well as made to order) The best part is the proprietors. They’re knowledgeable about the area, friendly, and kind-hearted. They helped make our stay wonderful

Came here for a weekend stay during a short ski trip to Loon Mountain. The Wilderness is a very cozy and accommodating place to stay, about 5 minutes from Loon, 4 minutes from the ice castles, and a 2-minute walk from the downtown area which is filled with restaurants and breweries. Karen and Alan cook breakfast every morning,( just about anything you can think of, just ask and give them about 10 minutes). This was the perfect place for our little retreat and will recommend to friends and family. looking forward to coming back during the summertime for all the seasonal attractions.

Within a mile of Ice Castles which is what we came up for. 1/4 of a mile from the local shops and restaurants. Breakfast is prompt and delish. Karen and her husband really care about your experience. Very homey and comfortable atmosphere. Loved this experience.
