Well we arrived to check in and when we told the valet that we did not need him to valet the car, he said we needed to move it to a spot on the street and offered to move it himself. And pointed us to a spot and said there’s two hour parking there. While we were checking in, we got a $35 ticket for parking on the street, felt like kind of a set up. Punishment for not valeting the car ( that we needed an hour later). Also when we made a reservation last month there was no mention the property would be under construction and there was no restaurant or bar service available- might have changed our decision on staying here. Location was where we needed to be, front desk staff was nice and room was as expected but overall visit did not leave a good impression.

Planned to spend the weekend in Portsmouth. I had stayed at this Hilton I. The past and had a good visit. This time the hotel was undergoing a renovation. I had not seen this on the website but checked in expecting to have no issues. Unfortunately the smell once I got off the elevator was horrible. It appeared to be chemical fumes from the renovation of the hallways - in particular new carpets. I proceeded to my room and the odor there was worst than the hallway. I was traveling with a friend and they experienced the same odor in her room. I called the front desk and was told all rooms would be the same. We proceeded back to the lobby where the manager refused to reimburse us for the rooms. I had been in the room for less then 5 minutes and was already experiencing a headache. The rooms were clearly a health risk from the chemical fumes. The windows could not be opened and there had clearly been no effort to air out the fumes. I am an honors member with Hilton and was very surprised that a members health was treated so callously. The manager said we should have been aware of the renovations since it was in the website. I checked the website and the renovations listed were for public rooms. There was no mention of renovations of rooms. But even if there had been my expectation would be that they would have been aired out since chemicals from carpets and other construction are known to be harmful to peoples health. We happily moved to a Marriott where I will stay from now on. I have traveled extensively. My only negative reviews have all been from Hilton hotels

I am very disappointed with my experience. I stayed at this hotel for three nights (2/10 - 2/13) for a work trip. Several team members were meeting from out of town and this was the hotel recommended to them as well. None of us were informed that the hotel would be under construction during our stay upon booking. Instead, we arrived to almost the entire first floor being inaccessible except for the front desk. All amenities were unavailable including the restaurant, gym, pool, spa, and even the ice machines. The halls were dirty with construction dust and stairwells inaccessible. And the staff did not even act like there was any issue at all, or apologize for the inconvenience.||It seems like they should not be renting out rooms in this hotel at the same time as large scale renovation is occurring if there are no amenities and the construction is a huge eyesore and inconvenience for guests, as well as a potential safety hazard. At the very least they should have warned people in advance, and significantly discounted the room rate.||Additionally, the first room they put me in smelled like smoke, and the duvet covers on the bed both looked like all the threads were coming out of them. I asked to move rooms and luckily the second room smelled normal but the duvet covers were the same. So I guess this hotel is just ok with having ratty looking duvets.

Stayed here for one night for a girls trip. I would not recommend. The lobby, gym and pool are under construction. They put us on the second floor right above the construction and it was extremely loud. The room and overall condition of the hotel is poor. Everything is well worn. Tons of mold in the bathroom, hairs on the bathroom floor. The bed covering looks liked they let cats play with it. Furniture was well worn. The only good part was the location and I was able to get connecting rooms. I would not stay here again.

Our revent stay is/was very disappointing. Website severely understatement the current condition of the entire ground and first floors. Absolutely in shambles with dust dirt and plastic sheets hung everywhere. No break on the rooms? Seriously? Hilton Honors members and loyal Hilton customers for decades but this is terrible. Also turn up the hot water temp! Holy smokes barely warm water. Give me a break already. Again website Seriously understates the condition I assume this is intentionally misleading to fill the rooms regardless of the mess. Even the front door is closed have to come in the side entrance and haul your luggage up the street!

Hello, |We have been Hilton members for as long as I can remember and this past weekend we had the worst experience ever at a hotel. I will list below all the issues that happened on my birthday weekend getaway to Portsmouth NH |1. the hotel is under much more in depth construction than the website listed|2. elevator was a scary mess with temp. walls in place.|3. the lobby was just walls of lumber, I actually could not find my way to lobby once off elev.|4. Breakfast room, had such an order of dirty old deep fryer and 9.95 for piece of fruit to go Crazy The guy there when questioned him about it was rude and said we all have to eat. Coffee pot in room didnt work !|5. Valet for $40.00 but we called down and gave 30 min notice then had to wait another 20 or so min and then my husband asked for our keys to get the car himself before we were late and guy couldn't find them. My husband got the car himself !! Guy was just sitting in his cubby with no intention of getting car and we were charged the 40.00.|6. Front desk- as we were waiting for car the 25th morning- I asked if room was to be cleaned today -he said no . I went on to tell him we had no towels and would like room, bed made up. He said thats not how we do it here. I said we will move to another hotel and was told we could not cancel at this point, also said on our app. I was very kind and got treated as not a gold member. Never got water or greeted as a member at check in also. |7. Saturday moring at 745 we were awakened by hammering nails somewhere near by- when question front dest that said yes we know they had to do something for rugs so started early ( not my problem) |8. When checking out I asked to talk to mgr about my issues, Jun Park - I again spoke kindly but told him of our concerns and he argued with every point I brought up, my husband was shocked also, everything he disputed, argued with me about construction - whatever happened to customer is always right ? much more to say but no more room to type.

This place is under renovation till Apr 30, 2025. Hence its chaos all over the place. Kitchen is non functional. Dust is all over the place. Even ice dispensers are not working on any floor other than Kitchen and for that too, you would need the reception desk people to check over with. Not a pleasant stay this time.

Paying more than $250/night and this level of service was not expected at least. Ideally they should have mentioned it somewhere that this hotel is under renovation.

This was absolutely the worst hotel experience ! When I arrived to check in they informed me I reserved two rooms on line. I did not. They informed me I would be charged full price for two rooms unless someone called to make a reservation as they were sold out. I took my daughter for a special night to shop for wedding gowns l! We only wanted one room. Checking out my receipt only had one room charge but looking into bank statement they definitely charged me 279 dollars for a room no one used. The manager Jun was so rude and the general manager Troy has yet to respond to emails or phone calls! And the place was a dump ! Construction dust drywall everywhere never mentioned when booking. I am in the travel industry and would highly recommend no one wber stays here!!’ Still waiting for my refund..
