Green mountain and granite recovery centers saved my life. They showed me that I could live like other people, they taught me how to be a man that takes responsibility and accepts accountability. I now have almost 5 months sober and I truly know what it feels like to be at peace with life. No longer do I feel like life is one big struggle between me and it. That’s all thanks to my higher power that I was able to find at green mountain treatment center. You’re probably thinking “aw great he mentioned higher power this doesn’t seem like the right fit for me.” They do teach alternative treatment programs for gaining sobriety at green mountain treatment center as well. So if you aren’t open to a higher power they will work with you to find a path that works for you and your individual needs. Make no mistake just like anything in life the journey is what YOU make of it. Green mountain treatment center will give you the tools you need to dig your way out of your addictions but it’s up to you to utilize those tools after they’ve been given to you. My friend received treatment at Green Mountain, and it was life-saving. I truly feared losing her to addiction. Previous treatment centers had left her hopeless, feeling destined for a life on the streets. The Green Mountain staff provided exceptional care, unlike anything I've witnessed. My friend's aftercare plan has enabled her to stay sober and build a fulfilling life. I am deeply grateful to the Green Mountain team for their outstanding work.

I just want to start off by saying that I owe my life to Green Mountain Treatment Center. I came to the mountain in the beginning of November of last year broken and defeated. The staff and the clients showed me that I was worth it and that I could recover. They showed me the necessary components of how to achieve and managing sobriety. I would not be where I am at today in my journey with almost five months clean on sober without GMTC. If you are struggling, or have a loved one struggling this treatment facility will definitely change your life for the better!

This is the worst facility I have ever attended and I completed residential, PHP and IOP. This place has a cult like environment. When I arrived from California I was diagnosed with COVID. I was staying at the women’s house . Essentially this facility forced me up into the attic of the house which I understood. I would remain there by myself for ten days. I attended ALL the classes via Zoom, well when the facilitator remembered I was there. I saw basically no one for ten days. They forgot to bring me food and they forgot to bring me my medicine. I had to order food from the local grocery store so I could eat. They promised to reimburse me but when I left the administration pooled together whatever cash they had on them, which wasn’t much, and gave it to me. It was no where near what I had spent. Very unprofessional.

The program is 12 step based which is great until you’re forced to sit in a classroom for hours everyday writing. No one was allowed to leave. I felt like I was in detention and being punished. As a former principal of schools I don’t say that lightly.

When it came time to leave after IOP, a program that is a complete joke, they had every excuse in the book as to why I needed to stay. They even tried to tell me there was no ride for me the day of my departure. I had already packed up after having already stayed an extra two days with no complaints. I insisted that they give me a ride and miraculously there was one available after I basically pitched a fit and threatened to sue them.

They do not allow people to AMA and if you do, they force you to walk down the mountain several miles by yourself with none of your belongings . Then they will give you your things and drive you to the local McDonalds to fend for yourself.

They lie to your family about your progress and they call your loved ones without your knowledge which ALWAYS causes problems between families. This happened to me multiple times. I also had to find my own sober house, no one would help me. Keegan did give me my phone so I could do this. The whole time I wondered what it was I was paying for while there. I barely saw my therapist and she was as brainwashed as the rest of them.

As I was leaving, the administration was undergoing a huge change as the head of the whole program was leaving. No surprise there and good for him- he saw what was going on and got out of there.

No one is properly supervised and clients sneak off to have sex all the time. One of my housemates became pregnant while she was there- a choice, I realize, that was hers but there should not have been an opportunity for this to happen.

Two people stand out as being excellent at their jobs- Matt and Megan. They were both amazing people. The techs, as is usually the case, were the most caring of all but there is little they can do to help as they have no real power.

This place is a literal prison. Their threats are based on complete lies. I would NEVER, EVER recommend this rehab to anyone unless all that they were after were good meals. It is my belief that these people are criminals and they should be prosecuted to the fullest by the law.

Aside from the incredible view, the mountain is full of beauty. There is beauty in the way the staff makes you feel comforted and welcome, the community that surrounds you and the solution being shared- a solution to find the light again.
