This hotel happens to have great potential. I’m guessing they are terribly understaffed. Upon arriving, it took too long for the employee to check us in, we were the only ones there. They also frequently do not answer the phone. Regarding the room, the couch in the room sagged to the point where a person would not want to use it, and the bed was quite old. Certainly not $105 - $180 per night (depending on the day of the week) experience. The pool area was very nice!

We asked for a couple of things after check in and they never brought them.

The cleaning staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was quite good! This tells me that the problem with this hotel, aside from the dated furniture is at the front desk!

Cottonwood is a great location for the area with ease of accessibility to everything! The hotel is in a pleasant area of town. Despite what I have mentioned, the area and the local businesses exceeded all expectations. And of course with the Grand Canyon, Sonoma, Verde Valley, you can’t go wrong for a vacation!

The toilet in our room emitted a high pitched screech while refilling and then at random times due to a bad water fill valve. The carpet at the edge of the bathroom was frayed and we could feel the carpet nails sticking through. We both accidentally stepped on them in the middle of the night. Generally, the room was tired and had scratched and worn furniture. This was a pretty bad experience. I would recommend avoiding this hotel.

Great rooms at a great price and location. Note though that I was there in the heat of summer (July). Clean, well maintained, nice size room, nice pool and hot tub. Office personal where very helpful when checking us in, and provided lots of information about the area, including places to visit and placed to eat. The BV Restaurant at the same location as the hotel was wonderful. Free breakfast buffet at the hotel included scrambled eggs, sausage, waffle maker, coffee, tea, and other selections. Plan to return to this hotel and restaurant when I am back in Cottonwood.

The room was clean but the sofa and bed were so old, saggy, creeky, and just GROSS that I could not sleep there - the ancient furniture and bed made me wonder what else they had not bothered to keep up to date or invest in. Room 105 by the way! The room felt so seedy that I left 20 minutes after checking in - not even caring that I had lost the $$ I paid. Also they gave me a wheelchair accessible room (I don’t use a wheelchair) and the bathroom was also gross - one big room with a shower and a toilet all in one - like a hospital room where they need to shower patients. Yuck!

I will say that there was a young dark haired gentleman at the front desk who was EXCELLENT.

And the Italian Kitchen attached to the hotel
Is GREAT (for dining in that is…I have found their take out to be not so great…)

I always feel like it’s insulting when business owners like the Lux Verde owners try to pass off a disgusting sub par lodging experience as if it’s FINE. Do yourself a favor and invest in your rooms!

SCAMMERS, SCAMMERS SCAMMERS. We were charged for a "damaged" TV. No proof of damage, just a SIX year old TV that would not turn on. AVOID at all costs. We were part of a business group, we had 6 rooms. APPARENTLY they thought the company would just pay for it, which they did, but I have a HUGE problem with SCAMMERS, that's why I'm writing this review.

UPDATE: just spoke with Tiffany, who has a very hard time keeping her story straight. There "offer'" was a partial refund, i didn't even ask how much, because it's A: not my money, And B: PRINCIPLE, which Lux Verde ownership has NONE. TV was on when we entered the room, and was on up until the last 30-60 minutes we were in the room. ANY physical damage would have to have been done by either the next guest (they'll probably be falsely accused as well) or more than likely their staff. I'm not going to accept ANY blame for whatever scam they are pulling.

Checked in on 06/08 @ 430. Took a quick shower and left to visit family. Got back, got ready for bed about 1030, my wife pulled back the sheets and it was NASTY! Pee stains, blood stains, gross! Front desk put us another room with 2 queen beds, my wife pulled those sheets back on both beds and the same things if not worse! Pica are attached of all three beds. We got our things and had to drive 12 miles to Camp Verde to get a room because there was no more in Cottonwood. The night clerk at the time scene, (The Lux) was helpful. He notated and viewed all the pics I took and was extremely apologetic and said I would need to return in the morning to speak to management. I returned to find out there was nothing that could be done as far as a refund because I booked through Hotels.com. I talked to them on Monday and 6 busines days later The Fluke denied my request to be refunded and claimed I stayed the night in their dump of a bed which was not true! Management are liars, beds are EXTREMELY UNSANITARY! Stay here if you'd like a nice parting gift of gonorrhea or something. All I asked was for a refund of one night, nothing more and they couldn't even honor that. Not a big review guy but this dump needs it! DON'T STAY HERE!

We had such a wonderful stay! I was so worried about all the bad reviews and took a chance. Our experience was nothing like the reviews. All staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only thing I dislike was that the door automatically closes, and it was challenging to get luggage in and out of the room. Otherwise, everything was perfect, and I would stay here again.

SCAMMERS, SCAMMERS SCAMMER. We were charged for a "damaged" TV. They provided NO PROOF of damage, only that a SIX year old Insignia TV would not turn on. Charged $400 for a tv that TODAY is $229. DO NOT STAY HERE Rooms were also not very clean either.
