Always visit here when in the area. The rainbow trail is easy and is scenic. No salmon in October this year, which is a big part of why we went now. Oh well, still a pretty place to visit. This place gets very busy, so go early to find parking and possibly smaller crowds. We went at 9am on a Friday and it was pretty busy. There are bathrooms here as well.

This is a great park filled with trails and a creek where you can watch the salmon run during parts of the year.

What you REALLY need to be cautious of are the bears. Yes there are bears all over Tahoe, but the bears walk right on the plankwalks where the people are. They can be seen up close and personal. Most times, they don't want to be bothered with humans, but if you get too close to a cub, momma bear can and will protect her young!

My suggestions?

Leave the kiddos at home, especially those in strollers.

Leave your dogs at home. Yes, they are allowed on the trails, but barking dogs really do disturb the bears' environment.

We go back yearly and it's never disappointed us.

Convenient, plenty of parking space, and beautiful hiking trails all the way to the lake beach. On the way there is a section we were able to see lots of salmons migrating can see

Did the Rainbow loop. Very easy and crowded. It only took long because of the many stops to explore. Lots of salmon. We paid for Lake Tahoe parking for the day at one of the kiosk and kept the ticket in the front window. Recommend for an easy hike and handicap accessible.

This place is amazing! We were able to see a mama bear and her two Cubs playing in the water. The forestry service employees were great at pointing them out and keeping everybody at a safe distance away from them.

Finally had the chance to check out Taylor Creek. Absolutely breath taking. Didn't stay long as it was getting cold quick,but plan on returning and hoping to see the bears eating fish.

Beautiful area. We walked the trails and went down to the creek to see if the Black bears were feeding on the salmon. They weren't there when we were but I hear they are around.

We went to Taylor Creek in October to watch the Kokanee Salmon return to Taylor Creek. Beautiful and awesome wonders of Mother Nature. The trail was easy and accessible to practically everyone.
