I have been there over 25 times in the last 3 years. Every clinic I’ve been to and every staff member made each experience as pleasant as was possible. Plenty of handicapped parking and regular parking. Better than average wait times for appointments and emergency room visits. This is a smaller sized hospital that is large enough to provide “Big City Services “ but small enough to have that old fashioned attitude of excellent patient care.

Had my mother there, the day we spent in the ER was a long day due to tests, but the staff was wonderful. Admitted to the hospital, and the nursing staff was outstanding! Their swing bed program was a God send. All the physical and occupational therapists were wonderful too, and Becky Foiles was fantastic to work with!!
(The cafeteria was really good too). 😃
Definitely would recommend this hospital to anyone!!

The therapy department I used to like not anymore. After they fired the one therapist who went above and beyond for her patients. I had this new one for my child and she wasn't very nice at all to me or my child. Saying how it was my fault that my child with severe autism was still in pullups and saying he had no medical issues. Mind you she's only seen my kid once or twice and acted like she knew my kid better than me. So no I called and said how I wanted a break from services. Well then I called to get back in and see someone else and the head of therapy told me how I would have to be on the so called waiting list and that's been months ago and still never heard anything. I am very disappointed how they are running things now. It seems as if they don't care to have any business. So that's on them. I miss the way it was when I first started taking my kids there.

My dad was here this week, and I have to be honest, I am skeptical of tiny rural hospitals as I have worked in all sizes of hospitals throughout my 20+ years in medicine. This is a great place. Modern facility, appropriate for the size of the hospital. The nurses, phlebotomists, NP, and hospitalist were all very kind, attentive, and made solid medical decisions regarding my father’s care. Great job guys!

I visited Carlinville Area Hospital on April 6th 2024 for some serious pain I was having in my pelvic region. I had a CT scan done and was told I have some ovarian cysts.

I was instructed to follow up with my doctor at Carlinville Healthcare. Upon visiting my doctor, she informed of additional findings that was seen on my CT scan that was not disclosed when I initially visited the er on the 6th.
The er doctor never said a thing about the other findings. He only disclosed to me the ovarian cysts and to just folloe up with my doctor.

This is very upsetting to me and I don't understand how the er doctor didnt care to tell me of the other findings on the CT scan. I should've been informed of all findings. This makes me not trust this hospital for my care or my family's care.

Would not recommend the ER department. The male nurse on staff was very rude. Also rushed us out of our room in the ER telling us there was someone that needed the room we were in?! Literally spraying down things and changing the bed before we could get changed and gather all belonging.

I was not very pleased with last visit with Dr Hatley. It seemed as if he was very scattered brained and unsure of what he was talking about and he did not address the symptoms I was trying to explain and he kept getting up and leaving the room as if he was forgetting what he was doing I left feeling worried and confused

Been here a few times and now have my primary doctor here--much more convenient and closer to home vs going to Springfield and waiting an hour to get in.
As for the staff-
Everyone I've talked to here has been super friendly and helpful with whatever I needed.

It's refreshing to visit a place where you're treated as a person, not just "Patient #1234" that can sometimes happen with bigger places. Having a 7 days a week walk in clinic is also a big plus, as many places don't do weekends.
