I was very happy with our stay. I wasn't looking for fancy, just a clean and affordable bed for a single night. The room was clean, the beds were clean, the property was quiet, no smell of smoke (cigarette or marijuana), and the staff we interacted with were cheerful and helpful. The breakfast isn't much, which I knew ahead of time. But the $30 less I paid for the night (compared to other hotels for the same night) more than covered a hot breakfast at an actual restaurant. It's conveniently located near several restaurants, shopping, movie theater, and an easy drive to SIU. No complaints at all.

I hope this review helps a lot of people to AVOID your worst nightmares when it comes to hotel experiences. We made the mistake of not investigating a little bit more about this place, we just trusted these people with these highly photoshopped pictures on booking.com, and we made the mistake of making a reservation with them. Good thing that it was only for a night! But one night was good enough to feel like 20 minutes but underwater.

As soon as we got into the lobby, the receptionist was barely understandable, and the halls had a distinguishable marijuana smell. As soon as we opened the room, that place REEKED of really smelly feet. Everything! The walls, beds, towels, bathroom, etc. We had to cover the bed with newspapers because we did not want to lay down on such a foul-smelling bed. As soon as you laid on the mattress, you sink so deep into that thing, you nearly touch the floor. We didn't even take a shower, we spent the night with cold temperatures in the room because no one told us that the AC unit is also somehow a heater. We only found this out until the next day when we were waking up freezing. We were so angry that we thought we should get paid to stay in this place.

If you really want to punish somebody, take them here for a night.

PS. - And the "free continental breakfast" this place includes is old cereal dispensers. How nutritious.

Pillows were great thought about taking one home. The whole hotel smelled like Marijuana which could be a real turn off for alot of people . Room was clean sheets and blanket were very thin. I'd suggest a thicker comforter. No open plug for microwave had to move to bedside table in order to operate.

The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. The room and hallway was very clean. I was impressed with the effort put into this. Much cleaner than many places we’ve stayed. The rooms are small and the lighting could be better. For a motel in this price range, I was quite satisfied.

You get what you pay for. If you’re just looking for a quick place to sleep for a night then I guess it’s ok, but I probably wouldn’t stay longer. Do not expect luxury. The room is small and very dark even with all the lights on. The carpets can do with a clean and the shower tub needs remodeling. There was a condom wrapper behind our bed when we arrived, which makes me question the extent of their cleaning. Walk with your own soap/cream because what they provided is not even enough to clean a baby. We could smell weed in the hallways. At exactly 11:00am on day of checkout they were knocking on your door to get out. Not the greatest bed. The room has a microwave and it was quiet which is a plus. However, I do not think I’ll be staying here again if I were to visit Carbondale.

Had to make a last minute decision to stop for the night after dropping off my kid back at school. I was extremely pleased. The service was excellent, the room was very clean, bed and pillows were comfortable, very clean bathroom and great water pressure/temp. It’s about 1.5 miles from my son’s dorm so it was very conveniently located. Will absolutely be back. I was in room 105 for reference.

Great price, hot shower, clean and soft beds. My wife forgot her water bottle in our room, and they had it ready for us at the front desk when we went back to get it. Would definitely be willing to stay here again.
