I had a wonderful experience staying at the Hyatt Place recently. The downtown Normal location is excellent, making it easy for me to check in after getting off the Amtrak and walk around town. It was also easy to get Ubers to go further afield without a car. |My room was spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean. The hotel was quiet with fast elevators, which was much appropriated. I’ll stay here again on my next trip!

Very clean and updated. Front desk very nice and professional. Breakfast could have been cleaner and replenished faster, but overall lovely place. I would recommend staying there over any other hotel. It was in a great location and walking distance to restaurants/shops.

The agent at the front desk greeted me as soon as I walked in the door and had me all checked in very quickly. The room was very nice and clean. Even though the hotel was almost full it was quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The free breakfast was very good and had numerous choices.

We stayed here for one night during the holiday break. It was nicely decorated and I was pleasantly surprised with the lobby area. Great first impression.

Rooms: I really liked the wide variety of room options here. We got a king bed with sleeper sofa. The rooms were spacious and the sofas were “wrap around” sofas giving nice space to actually hang out in the room

Pool: One of the main reasons we came was for the pool. It started off great and ended very quickly due to an obscene amount of chlorine and no ventilation. I believe the kids swam less than an hr and they were all coughing badly, especially the two kids in our group with asthma. Later that night, my oldest was sobbing because his eyes were on fire. When reporting this to the front desk, they acted like it wasn’t their problem and told us if we don’t like it we can Evacuate the pool. We were mainly reporting it so they could address this and fix the problem so that response was disappointing.

Breakfast: they did offer hot breakfast. It was decent, pretty standard.

I would definitely stay here again, it was a very nice hotel other than the chlorine issue.

Positive: The breakfast and service level is exceptional. We felt good about the value and the hotel is very nice. Negative: First of all, we ask for a one hour early check-in to make it more convenient. We were told a $25 charge would apply. The room was ready, and I didn't appreciate their attitude. The bathroom set up was odd but very clean.

I've stayed at this Hyatt before and wanted to stay there again. Shower had good water pressure and was super hot. The mattress was comfortable. The hotel is clean and quiet and within easy walking distance of serval restaurants. The breakfast could use a refresh, but overall I enjoyed my stay,

Unfortunately I have to give this place only 1 star. The room was nice and clean but unfortunately the customer service was horrible. There was a very nice man working the front desk who was very kind. However there were two woman, one supposedly is a|"higher up" who caused this to be very frustrating. When we got to the hotel, they gave us the wrong room, we booked 2 queens beds, they gave us one king. We understood and took the king but didn't get into our room till 4:57am. We were then told our late check out fee would be $10. We then went to check out and they charged us a $60 fee. The woman was not kind over the phone and made a nice gentlemen check us out, instead of talking to us at the check out desk, he then took the $60 off. 2 hours after we left the hotel, on the highway driving home from our trip, the hotel calls us and the woman said she decided she's going to put the $60 feet back onto our credit card and charge us again. She did it while we are trying to drive on the highway, and didn't offer any time or help with this situation of now my card being charged and then charges taken off, then again, then again. I wish the woman who is the "higher up" would have handle the situation differently with kindness because the gentleman was nice and we did really enjoy our room.|But unfortunately because of the “higher up" woman's behavior for the 8 hours we were at the hotel, i just can't give it anymore stars knowing how she treated the situation. Online it says the late check out fee is $10, still don't know why we got charged $60. Looks like this is just how Hyatt handles this situation. Very unfortunate for such a clean|room.

Decided to stay at this hotel across the street from the convention I attended. The high level room was extremely nice and clean. The staff were available whenever I was in need. And to top it off they have a Starbucks attached right next door and two Pelotons in the small gym. I was a happy gal!
