9.14.24 Parking in this area can be tricky because the lot fills up quickly, as does the street parking. There's a church very close by that taking donations and you can park there. There's a small rectangular building near the water which has clean, air conditioned bathrooms. As for the ferry itself, try getting in front of the line to board the ferry so you can choose your sitting spot wisely. We like the top deck so we can see everything while soaking up the sun. While the narrator tells you fun stories about the many islands you can buy a drink, a waitress comes by to take your beverage order (alcoholic and non), take photos/videos. This is a smooth boat ride and you not only see the various homes but also other boats and kayaks cruising by. It's really a beautiful area. This cruise would be great for all ages.

One of the best things we did in New Haven was the boat tour. Our captain did a fantastic job explaining the history of each island. The boat was clean and spacious, and we loved sitting up top to enjoy the stunning views.

A family friend of mine booked the private 2 hour tour & it was absolutely incredible! I highly recommend anyone to take this tour! I received a lot of history and knowledge about the islands from Captain Sean! He’s the best!!!! The staff was super nice & friendly! The ride was nice & smooth. Aboard the boat is a bar for you to purchase drinks. We watched the sunset from the boat & the views were absolutely breathtaking!!!! We were lucky to get a 75 & sunny perfect summer evening! Absolutely no complaints here!!!! Most definitely going to book again next summer to take my family out to experience the wonderful cruise around the Thimble Islands! 10/10 would recommend to anyone who is either looking for a date night, family night, or looking to learn a bit more about the history of the islands!

Yesterday, residents from our condominium chartered the Sea Mist jfor a 2 hour evening cruise and it was WONDERFUL!! Last year we did the shorter narrative tour, which is also a must do! If you haven’t seen the Thimble Islands, put this on your Bucket List 😊

Nice 50 minute cruise on Long Island Sound providing close-up views of the Thimble Islands just off the Connecticut coastline! Knowledgeable captain talks about the history, facts and lore of the islands. You can sit up on the top deck or below to take cover from the sun and still have great views. They also serve beverages during the cruise.
