We got a room for a quick New Year's Eve getaway. It was super cute. We were located above the kitchen of the downstairs pub so it was a little noisy before they closed at 9pm and early the next morning but with a sound machine or white noise, it was good. Check in and check out was seamless. Definitely would do it again!

I was invited to a destination birthday celebration that revealed an amazing gem right on the Long Island Sound in Stratford, CT! The Surfside Hotel exceeds ever expectation, even in winter. The atmosphere & rooms are perfectly understated beach vibe. Modern stark white accents are paired with simple seaside charm. The attached Pub/restaurant had superb views, great food & helpful staff. I’ve promised my husband that I’ll bring him to also experience the cozy seaside charm in the next season!!

Such a great hotel! Beautiful location on the beach. Our room had a balcony overlooking the beach and the seawall and we spent a lot of time sitting there when we weren't plopped on the sand or using the bikes and kayaks that were available at no charge.
Nice restaurant downstairs (Little Pub) and another great place (Riley's By the Seawall) was a 2-minute walk away. There's a room on the first floor which has coffee, tea and hot chocolate 24/7, plus delicious mini muffins, apples and granola bars.
Our room was very clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable.
The neighborhood was very walkable and everyone we passed said hello.
We can't wait to go back!

This is a gem on the coast of Stratford. Beautiful use good service clean and adorable rooms 24 hour coffee room and a 40 minute walk to a nearby lighthouse or take a bike for 10 minutes. How lucky to be connected to such a reasonable little pub restaurant with great food! I went in the fall, but there is probably better and I still had a great time reading my book on the patio watching the sunrise and watching the sunset. Would love to come back.

The hotel has a great location and great decor. However, they need to figure out their front desk situation. When we arrived there was no one at the front desk and while a sign directed us to text a mobile phone number - no one responded when we did. We then went to the hostess station at the attached restaurant and after waiting 10 mins someone finally came to give us our room key. Fast forward to the next morning when we needed to leave by a certain time and again no one was at the front desk. Again I texted the number on the sign and again no one responded. After waiting 10 mins, I had no choice but to leave the key on the front desk and leave - after advising the front desk via text. Incredibly, no one ever responded to a single one of my texts. No explanation. No apology. Really too bad because the hotel has potential but there's no excuse for zero communication.

What an unexpected gem! Stayed here with my daughter to attend the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport. Check in was smooth and pre communication great. They knew the kitchen would be closed by the time festival goers returned so they had platters available in the pub and an order form so we had snacks waiting in our room.
The food at the Little Pub was varied and extremely tasty, as were the cocktails....even my altered, special order. : )
The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable and I slept in later than I had for quite some time. The little patio overlooking the sound was a lovely place to enjoy our coffee while we waited out the rain to take a nice walk to the lighthouse.
Everyone we encountered was so kind and accommodating. I travel a lot for work and have received much lower levels of service at supposed luxury hotels.
Will be back for sure!

This was fine for a one night stay as we were driving through. I wouldn't have wanted to stay longer overall though. The room price, I think, is fair for what you get, and the room served its purpose for us. It's an old motel that they have redone. The rooms are cute, and you can tell they put a lot of thought into it but there are still some things that need updating and you can hear EVERYTHING. The people above us felt like they were in our room. It was also hard to control the room temperature. The rooms have their own wall units. Wi-Fi was a bit spotty. It did have a nice view of the water and there is a pub style restaurant attached that they also own.

If you're looking to book rooms here for a wedding, don't waste your time. My fiancée and I have been trying to book a room block here since early November and Jillian has gone completely radio silent. We were in the end stages of signing contracts and she stopped answering completely. At first, she said she was sick so we understood a delay. Then weeks later we reached out and got no answer (yet again). We called the hotel and the lady we talked to said Jillian was there and on lunch! She assured us Jillian would call us back and surprise surprise she did not. So now we are forced to scramble to find a new hotel for our wedding guests and redo all of our wedding invitations because of this poorly ran business.

We have given Jillian chance after chance to simply answer our emails or call us back. This place is so unprofessional.

Book hotels anywhere but here. This hotel is run poorly and do not expect any communication from them. Stick to legitimate hotels that have real event planners and are actually staffed properly. Don't be like us and trust them with any plans you have that are of any importance. You'll be let down.
