Wonderful experience, our whole group - both kids and adults - loved it! Their booking process is very personable, the trail guide was wonderful and their property and horses are beautiful! A wonderful way to get out and enjoy the beauty of northern Michigan. We will definitely be back!

It was so worth going to Michigan for. I enjoyed the ride and the scenery was peaceful and beautiful with the snow. I would recommend to bring a blanket and bundle up to stay warm. Also I will recommend everyone to go when they go to Michigan. After the sleigh ride we got warmed up in a cute shed with hot chocolate. It was a great experience.

Highly recommend! I wanted to surprise my husband who had almost died months before with a long time dream of his: a romantic, Hallmark sleigh ride experience. I have looked in every winter place we’ve ever been and wasn’t able to find any that were what we were looking for.

When I reached out to Faintail Farms, they weren’t really doing rides at the time since the trail was kinda rough and rutted and they needed a fresh layer of snow. But we were on our way through and they understood how important it was to me, so they were so sweet to warn me that it would be a rough ride, but they change their schedule to work with me.

They were so sweet and happy to be part of my surprise. They welcomed us and let us interact with the horses petting them and chatting for a bit before our ride. They indulged us by stopping along the trail for photos. They provided lap blankets to keep us warm. The noise from the jiggle bells in a literal “1 horse open sleigh” as well as the crunch of snow allowed us a sense of privacy and romance in the back seat where we could talk, snuggle, and kiss while we played Christmas music on our phone and sipped hot chocolate we’d brought. After the ride was finished they took some lovely photos for us on our phone and let us pose with the horses etc before welcoming us into the barn where they had a heater turned on to warm us and as much hot chocolate as we wanted. While we sipped hot chocolate they kept us company and answered all our questions.

They didn’t treat us as a way to make money but rather as people they cared about. They were also kind to their horse stopping along the trail at times to allow the horse to rest. We loved them and every moment of our experience and would do it again in a heartbeat.

What a wonderful winter experience we had at Fantail Farms for our sleigh ride. It was 45 minutes through the woods up and down hills. Hannah our horse was very entertaining as she slowed down and sped up during the ride.
Hot cocoa was waiting for us in a private warming shed at the end.
And I have give a big shout out for Susan who did such a great job communicating with me as I planned this surprise for my wife’s birthday.
We can’t wait to do this again!

Beautiful horses on a stunning sunny day. Smiles on all our faces. A bald Eagle flew gracefully over our sleigh as we went through the woods. The owners were great host. We will be back in 2023.

This was our second year and it did not disappoint! Mother Nature did not cooperate with snow but we made the best of it with a wagon ride. Staff is friendly and informative.
The horses are beautiful and well taken care of.
