We went on the hour trail ride as a group of 9 with Doug. 4 adults and 5 kids ranging in ages 9-16. Little to no experience. All of the horses were calm and well trained. The hour ride was perfect with riding in fields and through woods. Bugs were very minimal. Doug was wonderful! We will do it again next time we are in the area.

We had a wonderful experience on our two hour trail ride. All 4 of us were beginners and the horses were very gentle and calm. We mostly walked but did practice trotting a few different times throughout the ride. Saw lots of butterflies and birds including orioles and sand hill cranes on the trail. We will definitely be back to continue learning. The owners are very kind, experienced and relaxed.

We came here with a group of 10 girls and absolutely LOVED our time! I grew up riding horses and this was one of the most fun I had on a trail ride. 10/10 recommend if you’re in the area!

We came out here from Massachusetts and searched for authentic western pleasure riding. Doug gave that to us and much more! He is an incredible guide and a a rare true cowboy. My daughter and I were so ecstatic to canter through the gorgeous open fields and up hills on our 2 hr ride. He taught us much about the area and wildlife and was very kind to us. We have done a fair amount of trail rides and this was beyond the best ever! He is incredibly knowledgeable and trained amazing horses to ride. I am so glad I reached out in advanced to schedule our ride, he gets tons of calls a day and this a family run farm (so keep trying- it’s so worth it!)
We are coming again this weekend with my youngest since he brings out little ones out too!

Absolutely wonderful experience. My family and I were up here for a long weekend and it was a sort of last minute decision to go horseback riding. I’ve been riding for about 10 years now, and absolutely nothing could prepare me for the freedom and beauty of this trail ride. I was on a lovely horse for 2 hours and loved every second of it. We went all around the surrounding meadows and trails, had beautiful weather, and got to canter through the open fields. The brothers who run this facility are respectful and make for great company. If you’re looking for something other than hiking, but still want to get out and see the sights, I highly recommend coming to Outrider Horseback Riding. Well behaved horses, beautiful sights and affordable rates. I’d give this place 10 stars if I could, but I’ll just have to come back next year.

Always a great experience at Outrider Horseback Riding. The prices are so reasonable, only $25 an hour. Beautiful horses and scenery. Make sure to bring cash! Only a porta-potty available.
