Great accommodations for a large group. Great location and actually didn't even mind that we were off the grid (no wifi, no cell service) I would give 5 stars if they would upgrade the beds (old and not super comfortable). Heck...I would pay more per night if I knew the beds were more
comfortable. Time to upgrade a few things and this place would be spot on.

I've been lucky enough to visit Cuchara twice. We stayed in the River Paradise home as well as the stunning River Runaway home. River Paradise has a fantastic view of the Stonewall and the river running along the property made it all the more peaceful. We were even visited by donkeys and horses during our stay! The River Runaway house was my favorite, so beautiful it made it hard to leave. These private cabins are kept incredibly clean and they do a fantastic job of making it feel like you're in your own home. There was almost too much to do around there in just a weeks stay, horseback riding through the mountains, hikes, fishing at Bear Lake, the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad.... I cannot wait to be back in Cuchara, there's truly nothing like it.

Great place! We all had a wonderful stay @ the River Retreat cabin, nobody wanted to leave! Ed was very helpful from the get-go and I will be making our cabin reservations thru him every time we stay in Cuchara. Thanks Ed!

Reached out 7/15, 7/16, and once again 7/17. No reply, no call, no nothing. Then the owner proceeded to lecture me on Facebook reviews about rude messages. The last message I left was explaining that I hadn't received any replies and was calling one last time to see if we could do business. Don't expect a hasty reply if any at all. I have been in sales for 11 years now and I understand follow-up is key.

Edit:. All this could have been avoided with a simple follow up call. Simple as that.
