Excellent tour. My wife and I are not very experienced with wine but Matt made it very interesting and informative. We were kind of intimidated at first but Matt made us feel very comfortable. Having all that wine probably helped too...
The way Matt personalized the tour to our tastes made the tour for us. Can't go wrong with this tour.

My wife and I visited Carmel Valley with Matt and Cane & Spur a few weeks ago. It was an absolute blast. Matt has a great combination of wine knowledge and relationships with the best wineries in Carmel Valley. My favorite part is probably that Matt tailors the tour to your personal palate. Rather than wasting time visiting too many wineries with flashy marketing and mediocre wine, let Matt take you to the best.

Matthew was phenomenal! We did a private wine tour last month in Carmel for a 40th birthday weekend and he was so patient with us and made us laugh! We had the BEST time and the tour was the highlight of our trip. Matthew took us to small family owned spots rather than commercial tasting rooms. I would recommend this tour to anyone and would totally do it again next time I’m in Carmel. Thank you Mathew for being so awesome from the Padre Lane crew!

Hands down, Cane and Spur is the best wine tour company in the Monterey - Salinas area. Focusing on the wineries and vineyards of the Santa Lucia AVA, they know wine and have solid relationships with the owners and staffs. We booked a tour online (super easy), talked with Matt beforehand (very personable) and took a group of friends with us. There were two tours that afternoon and co-owner Scott joined us. The other tour was a private tour in their new Tesla X model...... we were envious, but very comfortable in a new 10 passenger van. Matt made sure he understood what our wine tastes were and tailored the stops accordingly. Our group bought several cases of wine that afternoon - a testimony to the quality of the wineries we visited. We enjoyed a delicious catered snack furnished by C&S mid afternoon while enjoying wine at one of the stops. While the transportation and wineries were great, what separated this tour from others we’ve done was the very personable and knowledgeable service. All our friends agreed this was the best part of our stay in Monterey. Highly recommended.

We were the first party to have the pleasure of hiring Cane and Spur for our Monterey County Wine Tour. Our driver Matt was on time and very accommodating. The touring van was brand new and very comfortable. It comfortably sat a party of 8. I know they now have a Tesla SUV which is next on our list to try.

The wine experience with Cane and Spur was above and beyond our expectations. Matt was very knowledgeable and made the tour that much better. I highly recommend this company if your interested in taking a tour of Monterey Counties Wine country.

His personal touch in selecting both the wineries and the specific wines we should taste made for the perfect afternoon and the highlight of our trip to California.

We had a fantastic day together with Matt and Scott. They collected my wife and I and took us out to a range of lovely bespoke tastings in Carmel Valley and to Vineyard tastings that we would have never found without them....They were both extremely knowledgeable on their wines and having learnt our wine preferences tailored the rest of the days trip accordingly which was a great touch.... Can’t recommend Cane & Spur enough and we will be back again on our next trip.

My husband and I spent an afternoon sipping fabulous wines on a private tour with Matthew. The day was unhurried yet covered a great deal of ground. Matthew was exceptional with recommendations and let us fill our bellies on some awesome lunch between stops to ensure we were ready to go all afternoon. We have just received our first shipment of wines from the trip and are tearing through some amazing pinot noirs already! would love to go back and do it all over again!
