We had a winter stay at Water's Edge, the first weekend of February 2025, and thoroughly enjoyed many things about it! We loved sitting by the fireplace in the lobby for the warmth and coziness. The Saturday night acoustic music was a nice touch to add to the bar area. The Sunday morning brunch was absolutely delicious. The beach area on the property was a great spot to watch the sunset. The staff at the front desk even gave us a toothbrush packet when we realized we forgot ours. We'll certainly return!

Worst customer service. I attended the New Years Eve event. First they could not use my card over the phone. I tried twice. They had all the right information. They said just do it when you arrive at the event.

When I arrived I was put in queue for check-in, like I was staying over night in a room. I was just paying $494 for two people for a New Years Eve party. When I complained the desk person TRACY scolded me, said it was my fault. She was training someone so I was missing the party as I waited for her to wait on everyone. It took twice as long with the training on the job.

The customer service is a joke. Never again will I give the Water's Edge another dime of my business. The best thing about 2025 so far is I never have to see that desk person again. At $500 for 2 tickets you expect better treatment. It's a joke.

Surprisingly wonderful! I spent a week here. 1. The resort has the ideal location to the water❤️. I walked out every morning to enjoy the coast. 2. The first thing I noticed and most appreciated was how clean my room was. It was a relief to walk in and have my expectations exceeded. 3. It is a Beautiful property. The landscaping is well maintained, and I enjoyed walking around and admiring the mixed landscaping on the property. You can tell the gardeners take pride in their work. 4. The valet and attendants were top-notch. They were So helpful and attentive. Room service was always fast. It was a mixed bag on who answered the phone at the desk. Sometimes I would get a cheerful girl, and sometimes, I would get a woman who seemed like she was having a bad day. 🤷‍♀️but i still rated service a 5 because the gentlemen (young and seasoned )who helped me with bags and food were apparently aiming to please. While were here we went hiking in New Haven, visited the Mystomic Aquarium, and relaxed.

This was a disappointing experience. I booked via their website. When I clicked on the calendar to book it very clearly gave a rate that was lower than the room rate I ultimately paid. The room was clean and roomy, but definitely utilitarian and lacking interest. The pillows were cinderblocks and the heater ran, very loudly, all night long. The elevator smelled faintly of vomit. The Starbucks was scheduled to open at 7a (late in my opinion), but didn't open until someone from the restaurant ran over to help the handful of customers gathered, waiting patiently waiting for coffee. Apparently whoever was slated to open didn’t arrive on time. The woman working at the front desk was unfriendly, if not verging on rude. I was never asked how my stay was- a first for a 3+ star hotel- which is why I'm sharing my experience now. I usually stay at the Saybrook Point Inn, but received a gift card for this hotel so was excited to try it. The Saybrook Point Inn is my first choice a hundred times over.

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary here and it was perfect! We had an ocean view room and it was beautiful and clean. Excellent service! Everyone was so kind and accommodating. The food was amazing as well. We would love to come back someday!

Service was great everyone is super friendly.
The room was clean not the best location we were facing the parking lot and woke up to the sound of a leaf blower @ 7:30 am also the towels are a bit scratchy for such a high end resort. Overall it was a pleasant visit. For the price it could be a bit nicer.

Highly overrated. Time share units have been neglected. Not a good choice for those with mobility challenges as everything is a walk up or down hill and you can't park near your unit. You can call for a bellhop with a golf cart to pick you up but the beach would remain off limits to you. Restaurants were below average for food. Don't even bother with the happy hour apps. They are awful. Walkways are not well lit at night. While we were walking up to the main building one night we were passed by a woman in a hurry. She says she had to use the rest room in the main building because her toilet was backing up and they hadn't come to fix it.

Beautiful, beautiful, immaculate facilities. Exceptional food, beautiful views, but the hospitality was lacking. For the cost, they must up their game in this department. I and my party of a few dozen had the same general consensus, found the staff to be less than welcoming. Always very harried and short, and unaccomodating. They make you feel like you're out of place. Nobody was ever rude (except the valet) I just get the feeling like there is someone very harsh in charge and gives all the staff anxiety. That is kind of the whole vibe. With the exception of the Spa, the staff at the desk, the practicioners, everything was extraordinary.

When I arrived the man at the valet, just anxiously asked us Questions about our reservations, didn't offer a cart or help unload our stuff, making me feel anxious and out of place, I finally went in to grab a cart, and he literally fought with me over it, he wouldn't give it to me, like tug of war. I didn’t understand what the expectation was, I'd say that was the theme of the whole place.

The room was standard mid grade hotel room, nice clean room, plush carpeting, the bedding was nice, but the mattresses and pillows were terrible. The pillows are all double thick, and the bed was about 8 inches higher at the bottom than in the middle, like being swallowed by a bowl of marshmallows or sleeping in a hammock, they have never turned a mattress in its existence. Neither of us actually fell asleep. They added a pillow top to try to make them more comfortable, but the mattress must be as old as the floor boards. (Not really the resorts fault but also endless screaming children in the hallway from 7a on)

All in all, the value of the room and service was low, the outside facilities and small beach from brings the value it was lovely. I would say, it was not worth a 1 night stay but if you made it at least 2 or 3, as they rushed us out, so I would say you must make it 2 or more.

Late Checkout - I had an 11a check out and a 10:30 spa appt. Considering it was off season, and nobody was checking in after us you would think a late checkout would have been possible, they said no (twice). At the spa, the woman next to me had the same issue, she was going to cancel her facial, so they gave her a 1p check out. Really ruined morning.
