Super easy to get to, a normal sedan can make it without issues. The road is pretty decent. I thought it was going to be a lot worse. It's definitely worth the trip around the mountain to get there. Was able to see the Tsuchinshan comet and photograph it with ease. Need to take a day trip up there now. Comet and meteorite in 1 ?☄️

We went on a weekend and ran into a few people on our way there and while being there too. The road up to the Inn is accessible with sedans but high clearance vehicles would be best. The location of the Inn itself is quiet and peaceful with good views all around. I love visiting old place and learning about them, and if you do too you'll enjoy this place. Just the thought of imaging how it use to look back then makes it exciting. Off road trails looked decent during our visit with no mud; I'm sure they're more challenging during wet seasons.

Worst bed and breakfast ever! No running water, bad location, shoot where can a fella get a drink in this place?

Kidding it was really neat to drive out to this location. I want to go back with my bike and see what is beyond the gate, closed by the US Forest service.

I went up here when it was foggy and drizzly...it was beautiful. I didn't get the full scope of the views because of it, but it looked amazingly eerie. There isn't much to see in the form of a structure, but I knew that going in. The unmaintained road is harsh, but I made it in my fwd vehicle no problem. I recommend to any adventurer to go up either by car or hike. It'll take a while both ways. Beautiful place.

Cool little spot for any high clearance non four-wheel drive vehicle. There are off-road spots where you will definitely need off-road capabilities. Most of the dirt roads can be pulled up on Google maps. It is advised to download a copy of the area onto your Google Maps so when you are out of service you still get all of the details of where you are located. Just saying

I would highly recommend a visit to this place if you are an adventurous person who is not afraid of unmaintained roads with a variety of potential challenges like rock slides and narrow paths.

There seem to be interesting hiking paths as well, but not for the novice hiker.

I will also admit openly that I did not do my research before arriving at this location. I had started my day with my fishing pole and my dog thinking I would find a lake to cast a few times. I stumbled across Old Ridge Road and followed it.

I will also admit that when I saw Tumble Inn on my Google maps (dot on the map with a name, I made an assumption) I thought it would be a great spot to stop and have a beverage or snack before continuing the rest of my explorations.

Well you can imagine what it must have been like to come around a bend in a mountainside road and see a unique rock formation of a time long gone. I was intrigued by what I saw and did take some photos never quite connecting the fact that what I was taking pictures of was the old remnants of the Tumble Inn and they do not have a single thing on tap.

I recommend you also check the weather before going to this location, as I mentioned the roads are unstable and any type of rain event could make your journey more dangerous than exciting. Be safe and have fun on your next road trip too 🙂

Nostalgic!!! The history of this location is priceless, we've come a long way with technology, but what a privilege to travel where America did over a hundred years ago, Please open the Ridge Route all the way through Again!!!

It is amazing that this site is still here. Road very rough but we made with two big Indians. One of the best spots I've ever visit. Well worth the trouble.
