I traveled on the California Wine Country Explorer trip in Nov. of 2018 and truly had the vacation of a lifetime! The scenery, the accommodations, the food, the wine, everything was fantastic. My trip to Tuscany was beautiful, well planned, professionally lead and had very nice accommodations. Riding through the Tuscany countryside each day on the pristine Domane SL 7 was a blast, and the guides did a great job supporting the group. Without the guides, the scenery, the accommodations and winery showings, the value of this trip would have plummeted. Each place we went with Trek Travel, we were treated as family. I purchased a used Domane from Trek Travel last year. To say the least it was not a good experience. The first time I rode the bike after receiving it, the crank stripped and had to be replaced. Luckily, I am located in Madison WI, so I did not have to ship the bike in for repair, but rather had to drive it across town. Thankfully, Trek Travel team agreed to repair the bike at their expense. Next, I took the bike in for a tuneup at our local Trek store. As part of their evaluation, the technician noted hairline cracks on the back rim. They assured me that Trek Travel would cover the repair, but unfortunately, they would not. Trek Travel claimed the bike was outside their 30 day warranty window and that I would be responsible for the repair. Equally disappointing, I had to contact the Trek Travel multiple times to even have a conversation on this matter.
On the Trek Travel website, it states that their bikes are professionally maintained and go through an thorough inspection prior to being resold as "certified." Given my experience with the bike, I do not feel anyone inspected it prior to me receiving it. I have considered taking a biking trip with Trek Travel, but given the issues with my used bike, I'm questioning whether I want to take a destination trip on one of their bikes. You would think that since they are using the Trek name, they would do a better job of maintaining these bicycles. Bottom line, if you do purchase a used bike from Trek Travel, I suggest you ask for a warranty in writing and do a thorough inspection of the bike upon receiving it.

I just got back from the Vermont Trek Travel vacation and it was STUNNING. The leaves were full peak in color and the riding was really incredible. Our guides also really set the trip apart from other trips I've done. They have such attention to detail and take care of you every step of the way. 10/10 would recommend Trek Travel!

I see this tour group in Glacier Nat'l Park all the time.
I don't even know why they can get away with doing this.
This road has no shoulder and is extremely dangerous for bikes.
If you go you may be killed by a car.

My husband and I went on the Crater Lake/Central Oregon Trek Travel tour and could not have been more pleased. Our guides, Max and Marty, went above and beyond to fulfill our every need and ensure that we were safe and having a great time. We lucked out with great weather, great comraderie among our group and an absolutely wonderful experience all around. I rode an e-bike and my husband was on a regular road bike. Both were well fitted and performed great for us. Food and accommodations were also top notch. We are already considering where our next Trek Travel trip will be!
