I just read a positive review posted by the owners of this dump!! Unbelievable ? Filthy, unsafe, unwelcoming front office, etc. $0 per night would be too much! Plus... I noticed while waiting for someone to show up and check me in,
RODENT POISON BEING USED on this property, with boxes of it left out in open. This KILLS everything, HUMANS as well as PETS and WILDLIFE including the feral cats which are chasing the motel rodents! That is murder and cruelty to animals which are both ILLEGAL in CALIFORNIA!! The local Sheriff, Humane Society and the ASPCA have been notified.
Dark, unsafe, out of code buildings, stairs and walkways. Abandoned cars in the parking lot. Not anywhere near ADA compliant. If you have a disability apparently you're unwelcome here. Lucky You! Transients hanging out. No management, no security, no maids, definitely no clean up EVER and, worst of all, obviously, no one cares. Why hasn't the city gotten involved? Shut the dump down!
Oh, mustn't leave out the drunk/druggie guests (?) staggering around. One of whom apparently works at the motel. Seemed to have an office key anyway. Maybe the owner!? I left without asking. Drove by the garbage pile surrounding a single overflowing dumpster on my way out. No surprise! It's appalling yet almost laughable. Except for my employers who booked my stay and are now paying for two vastly different motels!
So, hopefully you get the idea and just keep driving on past the unlit sign and down the road. Reno, Redding, anywhere. That's what I did.

Zero Star Motel--- We arrived and it looked nothing like the photos provided to book. Was to be just overnight and were treated horribly by the desk person/manager. He tried to charge $268 for 1 night when it was to be $65 including tax saying we were to stay a week. He had my ID and credit card and said no reservation for us and when he showed the screen my reservation was there. He said not me and he not know who that was coming in. He told us to go ...leave...stay another hotel angrily when we asked to see the room. The property was old, dirty, and paint covering the windows. It looked totally lacking in security. We highly recommend that you not book at this property! We told the booking company that for their sake they should remove this from their site. I am a old hotel person so I know from both sides what is and what should be and this is not it. This review is honest and meant to be a warning to other travelers.

The room we stayed in was dirty. There were both live and dead bugs in every room, thankfully none on the bed that we saw at least. But the bed itself dipped so low in the middle that we were practically on the ground. It also was tilted so much we were rolling out to the left side and rolling into each other all night. We didn’t even use their blankets, we brought our own pillows and blankets and were using those instead on top of theirs.
The shower was so dirty we weren’t sure when the last time it was cleaned with actual cleaning products and not just wiped down, if it got that much done to it. There was still leftover body fluids in the toilet from whenever the last guest was there. Gross! We were literally too grossed out to even use the bathroom, so much so that when we checked out in the morning we went to the nearest gas station and used theirs. It was SO much cleaner than the hotel’s.
We didn’t even want to change our clothes into clean clothes because we weren’t sure how clean the bed was or when the sheets had been washed/changed last.
The A/C unit worked at least. One good thing. But it would turn off at random times and then wouldn’t come back on, no matter what buttons we would hit, it would just randomly come back on even though no timer was set for it.
We paid $55 for the room for the one night and unfortunately they don’t do refunds OR exchanges. The room we stayed in wasn’t even worth $20 it was so bad.
Our key didn’t even work in the door properly, thankfully the nice gentleman helped us get into the room.
The only perk was the older lady who checked us in when we got there. Even though she was having slight trouble doing part cash part card, she still engaged us in conversation and made us laugh. She was literally the only good part about this whole experience!

This place was so ghetto. It was very old and falling apart. If you have standards at, all do not stay here. It was super trashy. We did not feel comfortable being there. There are a bunch of sketchy peoplestaying/living there. People were staring at us. We had our camping gear strapped to the top of our car but we were so uncomfortable with the tweekers there that we took everything off and kept it with us in the room in fear that it would get stolen. They don't even bother to clean the floors. My baby got dirty after crawling on the filthy floor for just 5 minutes. My clean socks got so dirty. The bath tub looked so gross I didn't want to put my baby in it but I had to use it. When I took a shower the water pressure was nice but I kept getting scalded by hot water. I was trying to take a warm shower but it kept switching back and forth from cold to very hot. I gave them one star, only because the bed was very comfortable and the bedding was clean. Other than That I would give it no stars.

I usually stay somewhere else that was booked for the day I needed to stay and a few other places didn't answer so I took to expedia to find a room for cheap. Travel inn was the most inexpensive so I booked it. When I got to the hotel the outside looked pretty run down and people were hanging out outside, but I hoped the inside would be better. The office looked just as bad as the outside and the room itself was no better. The door was not flush in the frame. There was about 1/2 inch space at the top and about a 1/4 at the bottom. This made the room very cold and drafty which caused me to sleep with the heater on the entire night. The door was so flimsy that it looked like someone could shoulder bump it open from the outside. The bathroom cabinet door was broken and they broken wood was under the cabinet. The entire room was so outdated, raggedy and old. I will NEVER, EVER stay at this hotel again or recommend anyone to stay because I did not feel safe and it was raggedy and run down. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable and they had cable.

BEWARE! After reading other peoples reviews I now see they are NOT exaggerating in the least. This place should be condemnEd, reported & illegal to charge for this! I travel to Susanville every two weeks with my 4 yr old daughter. this was our first stay at travel inn and will definitely be our last. I forgot to make my reservation at my typical hotel and it filled up so I was in a panic to find a room. When I called Travel Inn & they had space I was relieved but my relief was very short-lived. I checked in the wife of the owner was very kind and conversational. Was a bit hard to understand her. When I called in and asked what the total rate was she said 63 and she ran my card and it came out to 79. Wish she would have included the taxes on the phone but I let it go whats a few more dollars for some relief so I thought…

Was in such a panic didn’t really take the time to notice the smell in the office or the general clutter.

Once we got up to our room and opened the door it was pandemonium. As soon as you open the door very pungent and strong disgusting smell. Couldn’t tell if it was from like Drug use because it was very bitter and sour or if it was like a dead rat buried under the floorboards. But it was very alarming. We were choking.

Entire unit was disgusting. Looked like bong water was left spilled on one of the endtables. Tables all covered in debris. No smoke alarms. Floors filthy. They do not wash their bedding so be aware. Pulled back the blanket to find lots of crumbs and hairs on the sheets. I have a laundry machine I know that if you’re washing it The hairs wouldn’t be there and there was too many to say it fell from the housekeepers hair while cleaning. A/c filthy beyond belief.

The most upsetting and disgusting area with the bathroom. The constant hissing sound came from the sink. The bath tub but was so disgusting put a towel down to stand on because I could not bring myself to place mine or my four-year-old daughters feet directly on it. Just grimy and filthy like it’s never been cleaned.

Would have simply just left and gotten a new room but we could not afford it at the time. After reading other peoples reviews it was very clear that this happens a lot and that they do NOT give refunds. Was afraid they could possibly not only keep my money but try to overcharge me so did not feel comfortable expressing any unhappiness until my original payment was processed.

Once we left I felt so much relief as I had horrible anxiety staying there. I only got like four hours asleep. Tossed and turned. Had to sleep in the clothes I arrived in I did not feel comfortable enough to put on fresh clothes.

Hated that my car was so far away because this didn’t seem like a very safe place. Very sketchy. After arriving back home I thought the nightmare was over but the stinky smell followed us home. My luggage, clothes everything fabric that was in the room brought had to immediately b washed.

This place needs to be reported. Felt like I was pigeonholed into basically robbery and forced to either stay in my car because they already took my money or deal with these horrible conditions

The maintenance guy has been bye at least 3 times to fix the sink and the sink still continues to leak. The window has not been fixed; it has no screen for the window so if you want to open it the bugs will fly straight in. Plus the window does not open correctly.
