We support our local community and allies. This spot is great for all and a safe place for those who need it. The rooms are clean and the drinks are strong. Don't forget to tip housekeeping daily and don't forget about your bartenders. FYI the continental breakfast is fresh and plenty. You are steps away from the ocean and the boardwalk. Lots to do nearby and food to eat.

Even though it's off-season, the location is perfect. The nightlife is lovely. I just wish there was more food near the hotel with more options. But other than that, the room was perfect. The service was excellent. The location is fine.Five stars across the board

Such a fun place, and everyone on staff was amazing, even housekeeping was perfect, and thoughtful. Can’t wait to come back in the summer! Thanks for a memorable weekend. Great value, too! Very clean, comfy beds, and even greeted at a super late check in with friendly staff and a couple of waters! Thanks!

Paid around $220 a night for two nights in the off season over a weekend. The hotel staff were wonderful; however, there were several problems with the building.

First, the sliding door on the balcony was stuck and the handle was loose. You really have to pull hard to get it open.

Each balcony has 2 seats, but they're cheap plastic lawn chairs. I would think that the hotel could spring for sturdier wood or metal chairs, at least.

Parts of the wallpaper were peeling off in the room. Many of the electrical sockets were worn out and anything you plugged in could just fall right out of the wall.

One of the worst things, by far, was the club downstairs. It blasted music at 1:00 AM on a Saturday; it was so loud that that the furniture and walls in our room were vibrating. We were on the fourth floor; I can't imagine how bad it must have been for guests on the lower floors.

The rooms have small, regular televisions. There are no smart TVs. They did have an HDMI port, at least.

There are also no refrigerators in the standard rooms. This is mentioned on the website, to be fair, but it is nonetheless a negative —mini fridges are a pretty standard amenity.

Finally, this hotel is not a great place to stay at in the off-season; most of the boardwalk attractions and many of the local stores are closed, so you have to walk 10‐15 minutes to downtown Asbury Park to get anything resembling a decent meal.

All in all, the staff at The Empress are fantastic, but the hotel is badly in need of maintenance and, more importantly, modernization.

Are you ever going to renovate or remodel the rooms 🤔seriously hasn't changed since the 90s. Sad. Even some of the places in ocean Grove have done that. And with the new hotels in AP it's embarrassing. Holiday Inn has nicer rooms. Too bad you don't have a good restaurant either. Hope you can get it together soon.

Paid $90 to park there for 3 days, but the hotel had a great location next to the beach, boardwalk, and the Stone Pony. We had a nice view from our room's balcony. Weekend continental breakfast was very nice. Staff was friendly. Not a kid friendly hotel - ID is required for the pool, as it's attached to a bar.

The Empress is a beautiful hotel in a great location. The property has been well maintained over the years. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms were clean. The most memorable part is how much care was given to have our rooms be hypoallergenic and nut free. I was very impressed with their dedication to our comfort. Being Accor diamond member we were left with a plate of fruits and cheeses and a wonderful bottle of wine. We love the Empress and will encourage you to book a stay.
