One of the best experiences I’ve ever had on the lake! Tim, the owner and captain, was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and informative. He helped plan the perfect sunset cruise for my husband’s birthday with my in-laws. The boat was very nice and comfortable, and Tim even went above and beyond by providing blankets for us, making the trip even more enjoyable. On our way to Emerald Bay, Tim showed us new parts of the lake we had never seen before, shared fascinating history and fun facts about Tahoe, and we even searched for eagles’ nests in the trees. We hopped off at Vikingsholm for a self-guided tour of the mansion and a bathroom break, and made it back to the boat just in time for the most perfect sunset views! I cannot recommend The Blue Boat enough! We’re already planning our next trip!

I highly recommend The Blue Boat while visiting Lake Tahoe! I actually got engaged on this boat tour.... and it was the most perfect engagement I could have asked for.
Although my fiancé did the planning Tim provided a smooth and enjoyable experience while on the lake. Not only did we get breathtaking views of the lake in its entirety, but along the way Tim told us everything you want and need to know about the history of Tahoe. FASCINATING! You also get a chance to explore the Tea House on the island in Emerald Bay (where I was proposed to) while getting a breathtaking view of South Lake Tahoe. Not to mention, they provide blankets in case it’s a bit windy and water bottles in case you forget your own. Tim and his wife Robin are the kindest, warmest, and most hospitable boat tour guides. We could not have asked for anyone better to show us around Lake Tahoe while witnessing and helping set up the perfect engagement!
You must give this a shot when visiting :)? Especially if you’re looking for a unique way to propose!

"The Blue Boat" tour provided a very enjoyable way for our family to celebrate my husband's birthday. Tim made the tour both relaxing and fun!

We had the best time on The Blue Boat tour around Emerald Bay. South Lake Tahoe is gorgeous and this boat tour allowed us to take it all in from the water. Tim is very kind and we were so impressed with his knowledge and history of the lake. I was especially grateful with how well he tended to and treated my 81 year old grandmother making sure she was comfortable and answering all of her questions, even going as far as to offer her a coat when she got cold during the ride. Definitely would recommend this tour.

Had an amazing time exploring Lake Tahoe! Tim was an excellent guide full of knowledge about the history of the lake. We brought along our 3 kids (5 and under) and Tim was very accommodating/interactive. Would highly recommend booking a tour through Tim.

We are a family of three, parents and a teenage girl visiting Lake Tahoe from Japan.
We had a memorable and gorgeous time on the boat with Captain Tim.
His boat was very comfortable. I felt so relaxed sitting on the spacious, super clean, and soft seat of the boat, looking at the beautiful view and feeling the refreshing breeze. Sometimes he speeded up and we got a little splash of water, which was so much fun!
We also landed at Emerald Bay and enjoyed a short walk around an old castle, Vikingsholm.
Tim was such an entertaining, careful guide and not only did we learn about Lake Tahoe but also he provided a relaxing and happy experience with his jokes and care.
