Tahoe House Hotel - Virginia City, Nevada

My girlfriend and I visited the Tahoe House Hotel in Virginia City, NV, last Saturday. We initially stopped in to browse the antique store on the main floor. We soon learned there was a bar upstairs and decided to check it out. I ordered an IPA, and my girlfriend opted for an Old Fashioned—both were spot-on. The bartenders were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better.

We took our drinks to the balcony overlooking Virginia City’s main street and enjoyed the pleasant weather. Relaxing on the balcony while watching the town’s historic charm was the highlight of our visit.

If you’re in Virginia City and looking for a laid-back spot to enjoy a drink (and perhaps some antique shopping), don’t miss the Tahoe House Hotel bar. The combination of friendly service and a scenic view makes it worth a stop!

Spent a long weekend for a girls trip at this wonderful establishment and stayed in the carriage house. We came in after dark and proceeded to check in at the bar lobby area on the second floor were we were greeted as if we were old friends. The staff were wonderful and offered us welcome drinks and helped us check into our room. The live plants hadn't been watered properly and they noticed. They brought fresh flowers and complimentary wine to our room. The bartender was very nice and gave us tips about cool places to go in Virginia City. The room was amazing with a full kitchen. We never made it to breakfast but will have to try again on our next trip. The reviews for breakfast that I saw were great. Prior to visiting, I had a few questions about the room that the pictures didn't answer such as whether the kitchen was equipped fully to cook our own meals and the bathroom situation. So I took pictures to share. I'm looking forward to my next visit and Virginia city is amazing.

We stayed here for the first time for one night, as we were attending an event at the Red Dog. First of all, the owner checked us in, escorted us to our room, got us settled, and explained some of the old and new history of the building. Paul was such a gracious host! The room was amazing, the mattress was very comfortable. We will definitely be back! Hopefully for longer, next time.

We impulsively stayed here on Halloween and it was amazing. Paul and the bartender (his wife?), were so friendly and welcoming. It was fun watching them interact with the locals as well- they are clearly loved. The placed is dripping with history and relics. The room reminded me of being at my grandma’s house. Cozy, clean, and full of beautiful antiques. There is attention to detail everywhere you look, including the locally made shampoo & soap in the room and the breakfast spread in the morning. We aren’t much of review leavers, but the whole stay was such a treat and a great experience that we felt it was the least we could do. We’ll be telling our friends and family. Highly recommend!

What a nice oasis in the middle of Virginia City! So clean and so much attention to detail. We did not realize there would be an ostrich and camel race when we came, so the town was packed, and due to the Davis fire, the hotel was fully booked. Paul checked us in and personally showed us to our room (the Rosie room). We were given welcome drinks, so we sat in the lovely bar area and played some card games. We then sat in the back, where it was nice and cool, with a lovely water fountain. The Rosie room was adorable. Very clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a nice continental breakfast, with good coffee and it was lovely to sit on the balcony before we continued with our road trip.||There is no air conditioning but there was a fan in the window, a ceiling fan and the window into the hall allowed for good air flow.

This is a great hotel to stay in VC! On the boardwalk with all the action. The employees are wonderful. Lots of community space for bigger groups. The bed we slept in was very comfortable. I look forward to staying there again.

Stayed in the Carriage House room for 2 nights. Not an all mod cons place but that's the nature of a historic town that's been frozen in time from the gold rush era. Probably won't come back as we've now done small town Nevada but this is as good a place as any.

What a beautiful place.
Unfortunately we didn't stay at the hotel, but Randee the owner showed us two rooms which looked stunning. She was also very friendly and everything looked absolutely spotless.
We drank something on the terasse and enjoyed the beautiful view.
