We have nothing to complain about this state park. It's beautiful, friendly staff and camp hosts, quiet, and great hiking trails. We will definitely be back! Be sure to bring the big spray because ticks were plentiful! We were in site #20

This is a great place to go to get away from it all and explore the wonder of our world with beautiful views of our planet during the day and the heavens at night.

There are lots of trails, and there are 2 beautiful rivers with boat launches.

There are plenty of camping options, and some campsites are elevated, which is a major plus if it's been raining.

The food is great. There's a nice gift shop. There are tennis courts...

There's a large observing field for stargazing.

The staff is very helpful, courteous, and professional.

I have visited Staunton River State Park twice, and both times were absolutely fantastic! The dark sky offers stunning stargazing opportunities, and watching planets through a telescope was just amazing. Whether you’re an astronomy enthusiast or just looking for a peaceful escape, this park delivers a truly unforgettable experience.

We really liked this place and stayed here in a tent. It was quiet and peaceful for the most part. It was Father's Day weekend so it was a little busy though and the tent sights were pretty close together so if you like to be secluded I would say this is not for you. The staff was really nice and helpful and gave us a map and that helped a lot. Great place to go fishing too and I really liked the gift shop, it was well stocked with everything you might need. It was really easy to get the sight and convenient. I called and paid for it over the phone and reserved it and the lady even let us check in early which was really nice. Watch out for "park boy" riding around often though 😉 I think they might of had a pool but it was closed I'm not sure, either way it didn't seem like there was a lot for kids to do other than the little playground, still a nice little stay for adults though. We explored around the area a little bit and there was absolutely nothing else to do close by and no places to eat really just a gas station for the most part so it's kinda in the middle of nowhere. Bring lots of food and drink if you plan on not having to drive so far. I gave it 4 stars because it was a nice place just not necessarily what I enjoy 👍🏼

Fantastic campground and huge beautiful equestrian campground. Natural, wooded park with super nice well maintained trails. The gift shop is the largest I’ve seen of 28 parks I’ve been to. They also have some basic food and supply items. The cabins are great, clean and updated.

Great place for fishing and pinicing, almost every table had a grill. They have a nice picnic shelter with fireplaces on each end. Playground for kids by the river and next to the visitor center. The visitor center had a nice gift shop and small animals you can view and some you can hold. Staff was very informative and kind. They have a pool but it had been closed for a few years. Also have cabins you can rent.

Amazing courteous and helpful Park Rangers, very clean grounds and bathrooms with shower, great variety of reservoir access for fishing, kayaking, and boating. We'll maintained roads, excellent for mountain biking, hiking, and beautiful natural forest throughout.
