Beautiful lake... fishing not so good... busy and packed during weekend... quiet after ten pm.

We stayed the week of June 25-July 2, 2018 at South Fork State Park in the waterside beach camping area. We were in our motorhome and have the Nevada Senior Pass which gave us our site for free.

Sites have covered picnic tables, fire rings and grills. These sites are right along the water. That was nice because our view out our door was beautiful lake! Rather than side to side sites, these are end to end. That is good because we did not see our neighbors out our windows!

This campground had boat ramps and vault toilets but no fresh water nor RV dump. Although there were signs to keep pets on leash, that rule was, unfortunately, rarely kept nor enforced. We had several dogs come to our door!! We also had a noisy and profane neighbor!

Water and RV dump facilities were available at the east campground and near the visitor center.

We will go back to South Fork State Recreation Area.

South Fork State Park is a great campground near Elko Nevada. If you camp in the north campground, there is electric hookups at each site. The fee is $25.00 per night. There are flush toilets and FREE hot showers. There are potable water spigots around the campground. There is also a boat ramp, group campground and Ranger Station on the north end. On the south/west side there are 2 campgrounds. The fee is $15.00 per night. Both campgrounds are beach side. There is no potable water and no showers on that side, only pit toilets. You can drive to the north side and use the showers. This is a great place to boat, jetski, swim and fish. Would camp there again. It does get very windy and dusty there.

I don't have an RV, but I see plenty at the RV park. There are also boat launches and a " beach" where one can do some swimming (please check for any water advisories).
I fish from the shore and do okay when it comes to catching trout.

East Campground has power at 25 sites, sites are not very level so with a big rig there are only a few sites that will work. Mid week is the time to come in and find a spot. Weekends fill up starting Thursdays and most clear out by Sunday nights. Covered picnic table. Clean bathrooms and showers. Water available. Dump site at this State Park. Buy the Passport and it's very cost effective to camp at Nevada State Recreation Areas for the year. Lovely views, Quiet and 10 miles from Grocery, Gas, Hardware store. West Campground same traffic, right on the water. No power. Vault Toilets.

Nice place, very beautiful. The campsites have power (for an extra fee) and water is available at some (but not all) sites. There are two showers, you canโ€™t adjust the heat but the water is warm and the pressure is pretty good. The sites are pretty unlevel, we were hauling a 20 foot trailer behind a 30 foot RV and it was difficult for us to get a level spot
