It's so sad tht people like me on SSI dont get enough foodstamps to eat everyday. I can only eat once every other day, just to have food. I don't have the extra money to buy food. So it's either only eat every other day or every 2 days or go without food for a week or so at a time. With the FS I get I can only buy ramen noodles. But people like my landlord & his wife, they both get disability, the wife gets medicaid, an Aide tht comes in 5 days a week & idk what else she gets from DSS. But they also rent the efficiency apt, tht I'm living in right now & THEY DO NOT TURN THE RENTAL INCOME IN. My landlords wife told me herself that IF she turns the rental income in she will lose her medicaid and her aide and all the stuff the DSS does for her. DSS even sends people in to remodel her house for her. Between my landlord and his wife, I'm pretty sure they receive way over $2,000.00 combined income. NOT COUNTING the $500.00 rental income from me they receive. But they don't turn it in.
It's NOT FAIR to people like me that DONT LIE OR CHEAT OR FRAUD DSS.......we have to do without while other people GET HELP WITH EVERYTHING.
I even made a report about this to DSS but They DID NOTHING about it!!!!!!!
People that dont need help ...... DSS breaks their necks to help. People like me that have to do without and STRUGGLE STRUGGLE STRUGGLE, live in a car or in a tent........DSS DONT GIVE A FLYING FLIP ABOUT.
WHATS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD

I hate going to these kinds of places. They say something then do something totally different.

All the staff in this place is super professional and helpful. Which is something extremely rare to see in government ran entities. Neil Hilton attended our case but through the whole process others intervened as well, and all were kind and professional. Greetings from Chilhowie, Angel.

They give the senior citizens benefits to others. I got $111.00 SS increase. They called this substantial, and reduced my snap from $61.00 to $23.00. They increased from $21.00 in Oct to $61.00, then in Dec they decreased to $23.00 because of my $111.00 SS increase, my rent increased $20.00,. Everyone had their had out for my $111.00 SS increase. Really!!!

Horrible, horrible careless people. If you call, they call the person being reported and tell them that you reported them and tell those people when or if they are going to do a wellness check. Children are NOT being helped by this bunch. They never call you back. They don't want to help the child that needs help. They don't want to be bothered. Wish someone could tell me who can help though. Smyth County CPS won't help. Never take it seriously. Poor helpless children.

I saw Freda Jones. She was very nice and helpful with getting information the Wise County neglected to transfer to the Smyth County Social Services. I would definitely refer anyone I knew to her as a starting point because she would be helpful and knowledgeable about what you needed to do.

No charges against that woman that's hear say after she admitted it on stand. I told them I wanted my child completely out of the system. I hated them always will and that will never change hate to say that it was all on them not me other than words because they never listen.
