We stopped here during our day trip out visiting new places. The food had great flavor and the portion size was good. The loaded fries with pulled BBQ pork and nacho cheese were awesome.

Awesome smash burger. They have a nice option of items here but the burgers are their pride and joy. The loaded fries are worth checking out! If you order a cheeseburger I'd recommend the grilled onions and pickles, add your other stuff at the table.

Very good sandwich had the smash burger nice selection. Service was quick. Price was reasonable. Would definitely eat here again.

I arrived early enough the restaraunt wasn't busy yet. I was greeted warmly and the employee was very friendly. My order arrived quickly and was fresh and hot. I stuck with the basics: Single Smash Cheeseburger and onion rings. The burger was good--thin patty, melted cheese and fresh veggies, but the onion rings left room for improvement. They were bland and greasy. I would definitely order a burger again, but I would try something else alongside it.

The building has had a bit of a face-lift inside with some paint and new tables with super comfy, extra-padding chairs. No more squishing into those uncomfortable booths! One dining room had a sign marking it "The Family Room" and was filled with family snapshots. Browsing the snapshots was a nice distraction while I waited for my food. The opposite side of the building's sign was "The Tiger Cage" and I could see old photographs of kids' sports teams.

Overall a good experience here: good food, friendly people and a nice building. I will be back!

We are full-time RVers who while traveling around the US, are in search of the best cheeseburger and have a rating system of The Best (only 1 rated), Very Good, Good, OK, and Not Impressed. While at our home base in Southern Illinois, we were in the Centralia, IL, and Googled “hamburger restaurants.” We noticed that Smittys Burger Barn was highly rated and decided check it out. This quaint restaurant has an order/pick up counter and seating inside. Upon the recommendation from one of the Southern Illinois Special Response state police team that was having lunch that day, we went for their double Smitty Smash Burger with American cheese, tomato, sliced onion, and pickles. We added ketchup and mustard at the table. I had their seasoned waffle fries and my wife had their whiskey battered onion rings. The patties were well smashed and deliciously seasoned. What we liked the best, was the toasted bun that did not overpower the burger with too much bun. We both agreed and rated the burger Very Good. The waffle fries and onion rings were Good. Smittys Smashed Burger is in the top 10 of all the burgers we’ve tried coast to coast! We found out that Smittys has a special sauce and look forward to trying a burger with the sauce in the future.

If you want a cheeseburger that taste home cooked go here and the crinkled fries are the best ! Forgot to snap a pic till it was almost gone lol but it was good

Quality has went down hill. They are pretty expensive. I don't mind paying for good food but was very disappointed this time. They got the cheap chicken strips now. And my 11$ chicken wrap was like a mcdonalds wrap. 70$ to feed my family of 4. We won't be back.

Good food, good atmosphere, even better music. Everybody needs to eat here! My first time here and it will be a stop and eat for me anytime I pass through Centralia.
