Our family had a wonderful time visiting Smith Island. The vessel was very clean, comfortable and easy to board on and off. Our kids were able to bring their bikes to explore the island. We saw so many shorebirds and other little islands on the way. This was a wonderful little day trip and we would highly recommend it.

Really enjoyed my experience with Smith Island Cruises. The ride to and from Smith Island was enjoyable and we left on time. The ride is 1 hour. We had just under 2.5 hours on the island. I do recommend having an idea of what you want to do on the island since the time is limited. I ate lunch at the Bay View Inn (you are dropped off right in front of the restaurant), rented a golf cart for an hour (this is the easiest way to see the majority of the island in a short amount of time), and popped into the Smith Island Cultural Center for about 20 minutes.
The Somers Cove marina has a small, free museum about the town of Crisfield that I enjoyed visiting briefly before the cruise as well. I would recommend coming a little before your cruise to check it out.

This is truly a leisure boat ride to Smith Island. We enjoyed being on the water with our snacks and beverages. The captain and crew where the best. Customer service with Smith Island Cruises(SIC) is phenomenal. Would I purchase tickets to do it all again? YES! Thank you SIC for such a relaxing boat ride and for the sharing the history about this ship, the water and surrounding areas.

We had a lovely day taking the cruise from Point Lookout to Smith Island. The people who ran the boat were super nice, and the boat was a smooth ride with many options for seating. We chose the top deck and got a little sun burned even with sunscreen, but it was worth it! There is bottled water available for $1 but bring your own snacks. It was 2 hours to the island, where we loaded around for a while before returning. It’s not the kind of place with a lot to do; just a nice relaxing day to go somewhere new, eat some delicious cake, and bike around a bit. Great experience all around!

What an experience! The ship’s captain was so informative and the nature was stunning. So many birds: pelicans, herons, seagulls, hawks to view on the way to and from Smith Island.

We did the one day round trip and thought the 2.5 hours on the Island was plenty to eat lunch, explore on our rented golf cart, and purchase gifts from the bakery.

The Island locals were some of the nicest people we’ve ever met, so welcoming! I highly recommend a visit to the Harborside Grocery and Restaurant for the best crab cake you will ever eat!

If you are traveling with small children or elderly, both are going to be safe and comfortable on this cruise across the bay.We will be returning next year for another amazing day!

I lived in Maryland for 51 years and never been to Smith Island. I was back in town for a visit so I decided to go. Booking and picking the tickets up were very easy. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The trip to and from the island was a great ride. The captain was pointing things out for us to look at on the way and explaining things as we went. Lunch on the island was awesome! It was a great experience from start to finish.

Awesome experience! The staff are the ticket office are extremely friendly. The lunch on Smith Island was delicious! The Island itself is beautiful!Definitely one of Maryland's treasures!

We took the ferry to Smith Island this past Sunday, and it was a really fun! I loved that the ferry leaves at precisely 12:30, and it's an enjoyable hour long ride over to the island. Decent price, and a definite experience you want to have.
