My son and I went out with Slater last week. We had a wonderful trip! We saw lots of whales, dolphins and sea lions. One whale came up tail first very close to our boat!! It was an incredible and very exciting experience!! One I wont soon forget! Here are a few pics I took on my iPhone.

This private whale tour with Slater was phenomenal. He was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. The boat was comfortable and spacious. Our views of the numerous whales, dolphins, and other wildlife were top notch. Highly recommend!

I have been following Slater Moore's photos graphs for about 3 years and finally booked a private trip with him in April. WOW! We were amazed at how many whales we saw, and Slater has a knack for finding them and taking you right up close. If you have ever wanted to see whales in the Monterey Bay - go book NOW! We had the most amazing experience on our boat trips with Slater-I had 2 trips planned and am now wishing I would have scheduled one more!
Each trip out we had different encounters with the whales and dolphins-from lunge feeding and curious whales to breaches from the dolphins!
On top of the seeing all the wildlife having this one on one experience with someone like Slater who is a genius with his camera -and passionate about marine life just added to the whole experience of everything we saw, I can’t wait til I can come back and do it all again!

Slater is a true professional! We had the most incredible experience on our private whale watching tour! We experienced humpback whales galore, tons of sea lions, Risso and bottle nose dolphins, and a pod of five Killer whales! The solar eclipse was a true sight! Slater was punctual, kind, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about his work! Booked a trip to Monterey solely to boat with Slater and fulfill my dream of seeing whales in the wild. My high hopes were met and exceeded. Was a great personable experience with a captain committed to ensuring you maximize your time chasing whales and capturing photos. So many more benefits than a larger boat that is slow to navigate to the action. Slater was super knowledgeable about marine life and about camera operation to a novice like me. Feel like he is a hidden gem more need to know about. Hope my return trip will be sooner not later!

Slater is a great guide and captain! The whales were not cooperating much when I went, but Slater made all the effort to get me every place the whales were reported. With that I was able to see plenty of whales, doing all sorts of "maneuvering". We were also in the middle of a pod of thousands of dolphins, unreal experience!!! Plenty of sea birds and seals around as well.
Worth to travel from PA mainly for this experience!

I booked a private whale watching trip with a few friends of mine on 4/15/23 and we were completely blown away with how close and how many sightings of humpbacks we saw.

First of all, the location at Moss Landing is really cool. A giant power plant overlooks the dock, and we had a beautiful scenic drive past sand dunes on the way over.

Slater was really personable and friendly, informing us of the behavior of the whales and sea life. His boat was small, really clean, fast, and super low to the water to guarantee great photos and sightings. This is truly a must do at least once in your lifetime- but bring lots of warm gloves/hats/ and coats!

On our trip we also saw adorable sea otters, lots of sea lions, two humpbacks breaching, several groups of humpbacks, and a huge sun fish swimming right next to the boat! An incredible experience and I can't wait to return. I found the cost of the trip to be absolutely worth it, and then some.

Moss landing also has a really cool coffee shop (The Power plant) right next to the dock which allowed my friends and I to debrief our experience after we returned.
