I visited here on a Saturday and there was plenty of free parking.

Lovely views from the promenade of Scotland.

A walk along the promenade take you past, the impressive ‘Big Fella’ sculpture, amusements, and a lighthouse.

Lot’s of benches along the front and a few areas with picnic tables.

Not far from the promenade there are a number of cafes.

What a delightful seafront! Low tide reveals clean, soft, golden sand and there are fantastic views of Scotland from across the Solway. Even at high tide the stepped sea defences make for an easy walk - perhaps to the wooden lighthouse about half a mile to the north. The backdrop of the promenade is made all the more pleasant by the abundance of wonderful old Scots pine trees. Town shops are only a few minutes' walk away and parking is free (as far as we could see) anywhere. Highly recommended!

Lovely walk along the promenade with spectacular views across the Solway Firth to Scotland. Lots of benches and also picnic tables. There is free parking, a cafe along the walk plus children's playground. Highly recommended

A nice walk in fresh air without any hustle. Friendly local cafés , great smelling chippy and a chance of spotting Fairies or rabbits. A good place to give the dog a run.. What's not to like.

Been coming here for years & it never changes. Love it here, quiet, peaceful, old fashioned, great for dogs, loads of play/picnic areas & lots of free parking. Also great for less mobile/disabled as very flat with good paths. Clean toilets, few pubs & cafes & small amusement arcade & kids fair but views of Scotland over Solway Firth are spectacular on a clear day.

Visited on a sunny Sunday in June, lots of places for parking and we chose a side street. There is a long Promenade to walk, lots of pine trees line a huge green. Inside the trees are two play areas for kids and also an arcade. The wet play area was closed when we went. I've cream parlour is opposite the green and plenty of benches and picnic tables.
