We joined the river tour from the Michigan dock. Great location considering our hotel at 75 Wacker.
We used the Go City Pass and ended up with a sunny, late March afternoon. It was approx 42-43 degrees Fahrenheit but with the cool wind off the water and shade of the buildings, a lot of the cruise felt much, much colder- and we of course were not prepared. My kids were freezing but I loved the ride.

They should start highlighting some of the great landscape architecture that is also prevalent along the river.

Looking forward to taking the family back on the tour in warmer conditions!

Ashley did an amazing job! She took us on an adventure with all the architecture! We loved it! Would highly recommend if you want an informative tour about the buildings of Chicago! Plus there are drinks on tour. That was a nice surprise 🙂

Took the 7:30 sunset architecture trip. Beautiful photo op! Water taxi on the way over was great, only passenger aboard.

Not sure who the tour guide is supposed to appeal to, but it wasn't for me--just let the buildings speak for themselves. No matter, sat/stood at the stern where there were no speakers.

No one else came back for the entire tour, so I highly recommend manning the poop deck (with earplugs for the engine) for a pauper-private experience. Even burned one down lel

Shoreline tours are must, I’ve been on a few tours. Different boats each time. I prefer the one with benches. The hot chocolate is served HOT. Great views and great vibes from the guides. Our recent tour guide was Vic. Very cool and informative guy. You can tell he loves buildings.

Had a great tour on the Chicago River with Shoreline. Our guide that day was Becky, who was very knowledgeable. Went during the day but I reckon a night time time trip would be great. I believe drinks and snacks could be purchased. A great way to see the city and find out more about it 🙌

There are many tour companies available. They know this and strive hard to be good. Boat was one of the better tour boats we saw. Guide was over the top. Architect tour was longer and worth every dollar. This is a must do when visiting.. Navy pier has ample parking food and lots to do.
