I had to move from Boston to Rochester, MN and didn't have a lot of stuff to move and wouldn't have bothered with the profane price estimates I was getting from MayFlower etc. ShipSmart gave me what I needed: an affordable alternative for someone who can wait a bit for a limited number of items to be transported. They were shockingly fast about it, but the shipment speed can vary a lot.

The crew that came by to pack up my stuff and load it were hard-working, professional, and fast. I boxed up or otherwise wrapped most of my stuff but I worried that I hadn't been complete enough, but that didn't seem to concern them. They just got the job done. They were also highly punctual.

The wrapping and packing was no joke either. If anything they over did it. The truck driver didn't understand what the wooden pole with a rubberized end was doing in one of my two wrapped pellet-piles but I quickly found out you need it to disassemble their wrap and pack job. Be forewarned it costs extra to have them bring your things in to your new place. I did it myself and saved a bunch of money.

Can't recommend them enough, but you will have to wait a bit for your things to arrive. Probably longer than I did.

I shipped two pallets of household goods from Vancouver BC to Los Angeles CA. ShipSmart's strategy of palletizing goods allowed them to offer a price half that of standard movers, who have a household minimum.

My shipment arrived in excellent condition, but was shipped on August 13 and arrived October 7, quite a bit longer than the 4-6 weeks I was initially quoted. Having said that, I recommend ShipSmart and I will use them for my next shipment.

My goods were picked up on time at my Vancouver apartment.

Everything went well until August 26, when I started to receive vague messages saying I needed to pay. No amount to pay or where to pay. Just pay. Details about the job were incorrect. Frankly, it looked like a phishing attack. This vagueness continued for about two weeks. If not for this, my shipment would have been on time.

The shipment arrived superbly packed, with everything in excellent condition.

I heard about ShipSmart from another shipper in LA, and they did a great job with my small but valuable shipment. They picked up delicate objects at a private home in LA, packed them expertly, and safely got them to me in Montana in about a week - well ahead of the 4-week estimate. My favorite thing about ShipSmart: I can pick up the phone and talk directly to the folks who run the show. Great service, no complaints!

Edited to add: Both my dresser and desk arrived heavily damaged. The top of my dresser had nearly been ripped off and hangs on by a few nails and my desk drawers are skewed and falling off as well. Still, no accommodations by shipsmart.

It would have been cheaper and quicker to order and have all new furniture delivered to my new apartment. I had a small move picked up from CT going to D.C., and was told by phone it would take 2-3 weeks. During that time, I called incessantly because no phone operator could reach the mysterious warehouse where my furniture was stored. It took 4 weeks to hear anything, when I had to pay nearly $1000 more than the quote in order to have my items finally shipped. I was given a 10% off code from a larger moving company that recommended Shipsmart to me, but that only applies to the shipping cost, not the total weight, so I only "saved" about $100. I have been in my apartment for 3 weeks without furniture, still calling to find out which warehouse in the country my things are. I finally heard from a moving company in the DC area that has my items and set up a delivery date for their earliest time of another 2 weeks. In total, I will be without my furniture for 7 weeks with no communication between me and Shipsmart, nor seemingly between Shipsmart and the moving companies it hires. Shipsmart is a pointless company that only moves your items around between reputable moving companies under the guise that it saves you time and money. Cut out the middle man next time and either contact a moving company, not a packing and shipping company like Shipsmart, or rent a UHaul or Pod yourself.

We had family inheritance items in Colorado to ship to the East Coast. Ship Smart was recommended by a moving company because the shipment was small. From my first phone call for information to a follow-up survey, I was very happy with the service I received from Ship Smart. Conversations were friendly and professional. Pick up was on schedule and the man, very polite. When the highly unusual happened and the warehouse holding the shipment went up in flames, I was contacted by Joslin who made herself available throughout the difficult waiting period. Amazingly, our things were untouched and have safely arrived! I would recommend Ship Smart without reservation.

I had a great experience with Ship Smart. I moved from Ohio to Oregon and only had a couple hundred pounds worth of stuff (no furniture) to move. They quoted me a very reasonable price, and was charged more or less that exact amount. My stuff arrived within 4 weeks, as I was told it would and everything was packed extremely well. Nothing was broken or damaged. I would definitely recommend this company, and might use them again in the future.

Ship Smart is a great, affordable moving service. The staff was very communicative, and always let me know what stage we were at in the shipping process. All of my (very fragile!) items arrived intact and on time, for about half of what I would have paid for conventional movers. I would highly recommend Ship Smart for anyone looking to move long-distance with a studio to bedroom-sized amount of stuff.
