The Cow Hollow Tour with Lois was really interesting. Lois shared a number of great stories about San Francisco residents and homes from the early 1800’s. The tour was a good pace and we saw a lot of historic buildings.

We did the Bohemian Women near North Beach and really enjoyed listening to Cathie and Donna—clearly passionate about the subject—take turns describing the fascinating and sometimes wild stories of influential San Francisco women. (It didn't hurt that it was beautiful sunny day.) Highly recommended to learn more about San Francisco and get a little exercise in the process.

We did the 1906 earthquake and fire tour with Matt! This was a great tour especially since there is no true museum for the fire and earthquake. As far as I know the only walking tour fully covering this event. Matt was very knowledgeable and a fantastic communicator. He sent us an email prior to the tour with all the information we needed to know. Definitely recommend to anyone that loves history!

I had the pleasure of taking a tour with Shelley through some of San Francisco’s fascinating architecture and POPOS (privately owned public open spaces). Despite the wet and cold weather, Shelley’s warmth and sense of humor never wavered, making the experience thoroughly enjoyable. Her knowledge of the history and stories behind the buildings was exceptional, adding depth and context that truly brought the city to life.

Shelley went above and beyond by sending a follow-up email with interesting articles related to the tour—a thoughtful touch that really stood out. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in exploring San Francisco’s hidden architectural gems with a guide who is both knowledgeable and genuinely passionate.

Robert with SF City Guides was amazing! As a local myself I have yet to ever take a tour. Robert was timely, warm, and very informative. As a fellow local to the city he was able to give tid bits only insiders would know and provide greater context to the history of SF. The walk was brisk as it was a windy day. The tour was at little over a mile in length but, it went by smoothly and very enjoyable. I highly recommend the gold rush tour which is the one I took with Robert, and look forward to many more!

Excellent tour! I love urban history and this tour was all about the very beginning of San Francisco. We heard amusing stories about the city founders and learned so much. Our guide, Michael, was wonderful! Funny and entertaining, yet also so knowledged and insightful. I had a great time!

We really enjoyed our tour of the Castro with Robert. It was especially meaningful to learn about the neighborhood from a longtime resident who could lend personal insight into some of the major turning points in the neighborhood’s history. I would highly recommend this or any other SF City Guides tour!
