Sequoia Vacation Rentals discriminates against people with disabilities.

I had an extremely negatively experience with this company when I contacted them on Airbnb about a property I was interested in renting. Shelia Stone at Sequoia Vacation Rentals told me that this property would not accept any service animals despite the fact that such a rule violates Airbnb's policy and likely California law. Instead of apologizing when I confronted them, Sequoia Vacation Rentals rescinded my preapproval to stay there and told me that I lack "consideration" and "compassion[] to other people" with dog allergies. The company has since been suspended from Airbnb for their conduct (thankfully), but I am disappointed that they will be able to continue to operate independently when they conduct themselves in such an unprofessional and discriminatory manner. Stay away!

Adding a response to the owner's review: This is further evidence of their unprofessional conduct. Airbnb's policy is very clear about the service animals and balancing the need to accommodate service animals with an owner's allergies. Sequoia Vacation Rentals chose not only not to follow this clear policy, but to be extremely hostile and unprofessional in the process.

I would like to thank Sheila and Sequoia Vacation Rentals for their patience and understanding during the crazy 2020 and 2021 fire seasons. I did not have the pleasure to visit (due to the KNP Complex Fire), however, my experience with Sequoia Vacation Rentals in the pre-trip and “fire” phases was excellent. I hope that I can come to visit and stay in one of their cabins in the coming years. If you are looking for direct reviews on those who have stayed with Sequoia Vacation Rentals, I recommend checking out the reviews on Vrbo (they are quite positive). Thank you Sheila, and I hope for the best regarding the KNP Complex fire for all those involved.

We booked a house through VRBO in Three Rivers for mid September 2020 weeks in advance. Mind you, COVID-19 was still an issue, but I thought it would be a nice birthday present for my 9 year old instead of a birthday party. Then the California Wildfires occurred and the park and surrounding areas were closed due to the fires. Air Quality in the area was poor to hazardous. I attempted to call Property manager, but only got a voicemail, to later learn that they were evacuated from their home. I inevitably had to cancel our trip due to the fires. Sequoia Vacation Rentals graciously refunded the money.

A great place to stay and relax. Very clean and comfortable. Great location. Kid friendly and has everything you need to cook a feast. 5 stars!!

Response to agency: You are the middle man. As such, communication is your number one responsibility. I'll give you 2 more pity stars for finally getting back to me via Google review.
