Amazing Guide – Highly Recommend!

We had Simone as our private driver and guide in Rome at the end of August, and he made our trip unforgettable. He was professional, responsible, and took us to fantastic places. Simone even used a drone to capture beautiful photos and videos, adding an extra special touch to our experience. Highly recommended!

We have been to Italy well over a dozen times, so when I say how fantastic our day with Simone was, there is context. We truly love Rome, often coming to stay in Trastevere for a week, and for this time we are in Italy for a month. Rome is incredibly interesting, but sometimes it feels right to leave the brusqueness aside and head out. Simone planned the absolutely perfect day trip to three incredible places: Anguillara, Bracciano, and Trevignano Romano, places that are hard to adequately describe in terms of their authentic beauty. The pride with which these places present themselves is a reminder of what truly matters.

Anguillara, with its gorgeous lakeside, provided a beautiful place to stop for a café, which we followed with a walk up the many steep vicola to view the beautiful lake, all within the walls of the commune. Simone provided just enough context to inform us as to how this beautiful place came to be and how it is a collection of many small areas, each individual, like the Contrada of Siena, and very unlike a modern subdivision!

As a descendant of a Borgia, I have been wanting to see Bracciano for decades, as it had been a target (an unconquered target) of the Borgia papacy in the late 1490s. Dropped off right at the gate, we were free to explore the huge Castello Odescalchi di Bracciano, controlled throughout the period by the mighty Orsini. Too much history for you? OK, it’s where Tom Cruise married Katie Holmes. It is incredibly impressive, so no wonder the elite plan weddings here. The kind of perfect wedding as to make all your friends hate you!

The last stop, also along the shore of the Lake, was Trevignano Romano. We tucked in for a highly satisfying lunch at La Tavernetta, a necessary fuel stop to achieve the many, many steps up to La Roca, the hilltop fortress that received the cannon fusillade provided by the Papal Army. So much for a loving god—at least for those that opposed the expansion of the Papal States. History aside, the stair-step climb, past the cathedral (about halfway), was well worth the effort, as the view is outstanding and probably equal to a podcast-worth of stairmaster.

Simone not only expertly organized the day but provided so many amenities: Wi-Fi in the car, beverages, and treats—but those are almost meaningless when placed next to his masterful, warm, and entertaining demeanor and thoughtful personality. Don’t miss spending time with him. I have already made several personal recommendations and will continue to do so.

This was the best tour EVER! Simone was incredibly thoughtful, knowledgeable, and helpful. His driving was excellent and his ideas for variations of the tour were wonderful. The highlight for me of the actual tour was the Bomarzo monster park, a perfect, shady place to visit on a hot day (and it’s completely uncrowded despite being a magical historical location). A close second were the completely charming villages we visited.I had an abundance of time to explore independently but was always glad to know Simone was nearby if I needed anything. I cannot recommend this tour enough!

The best tour I’ve experienced in 13 years traveling in Italy, thanks to Simi! I expected that the highlight would be the monsters park in Bomarzo on Halloween… However the highlight was really Simi’s meticulous, considerate organization and wonderful company! He’s thought of everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable experience, even bringing Halloween candy. Recognizing my love for cats, he introduced me to the fabulous felines of several villages ? and an unexpected bonus was stumbling on a fun Halloween house of horrors! Highly recommend to engage Simi for the most fun way to explore Rome! YULU!

I booked a private tour with Simone to Civita di Bagnoregio and Villa Lante. It was one of the highlights of my 2.5 week holiday in Italy. Simone tailored the tour to my interests and we ended up visiting 2 extra sites that weren't in the original itinerary! And those sites were truly off-the-beaten-path finds that were almost completely deserted, instead of being swarmed with tourists like most other places in and around Rome. Eating lunch alone in the piazza of Celleno was an incredible experience. The scenery around Lazio is absolutely beautiful, and Simone knows all the smaller scenic roads to take to make sure you're not just on the highway. With Simone, you're in very safe hands -- nothing was too much trouble for him and he was very proactive at making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed, including wifi in the car!

I definitely recommend taking a tour with Scoot Around Rome, because you get to see sites that you wouldn't normally think to visit, or even know about! Grazie mille Simone, for a wonderful day out and so many new core memories of Italy made, I hope you return to Singapore soon!

My wife and I had a wonderful tour with Simone. He picked us up in Rome and took us, in his private car, to see the beautiful village of Sermoneta, where we also visited the amazing Caetani castle. We then drove to the splendid Garden of Ninfa, where we spent more than an hour on a guided tour of the garden. At the end of our tour, Simone was kind enough to drop us off at our next destination, the quaint town of Nemi. Simone is very knowledgeable and super friendly. We highly recommend any tour that he offers and hope to get a chance to have him as our guide in the future.

My husband and I had a fabulous day travelling to Tivoli with Simone, and visiting Hadrian's Villa and Vill D'este. It was so convenient having Simone picking us up from our Airbnb, instead of trying to decipher the train system to get there. Simone dropped us off at each amazing site, giving us our own time to wander around and truly appreciate these amazing and beautiful sites. Simone was full of information and was very helpful with other ideas of places for us to visit during our time here in Rome. Simone provided us with a mobile phone when in each site, to assist us in remaining in contact, just in case we used up all our power on our phone taking so many pictures. We had the pleasure of enjoying a lovely lunch at one of the Ristorantes in the Piazza in Tivoli, before visiting Villa D'este. We cannot recommend Simone and Scoot Around Rome highly enough to experience this day trip to Tivoli, the only way to do it we believe. Many, many thanks, Simone.

We visited the Bomarzo monster park and medieval villages. Do you enjoy history and learning about the ancient culture of civilization, but want to see some hidden gems? This trip is for you. In my opinion, this is the perfect way to break up the back to back sight seeing of central Rome. The monster park of Bomarzo is a must see, and the ancient villages really take you back in time. Simi will be your personal driver and guide, bringing you from site to site and explaining the history of what you will be seeing. He is a superb, and really cares about making sure you are comfortable and are enjoying yourself. He took us to get cappuccino and baked goods from a local cafe to the first destination. He is super amenable if you reach out, he helped us and arranged a hotel pickup, but may even be able to arrange for changes to itinerary if you need. I would recommend this 100%. If you can, book this. Nowhere else will you find someone so friendly and a personal air conditioned ride between niche locations like this.
