We were in Tucson (April 8th 2024) and on a whim decided to visit Sabino Canyon.
We purchased our tickets, walked around the Visitor center while waiting for the tram. All the staff were very friendly. A nice young lady offered us her eclipse glasses to view the Solar eclipse.?
The tram arrived, we boarded and began the seven mile ride up into the canyon. At mile two we got off to take pictures.... You're free to get on and off the tram, but it only picks you up on the way down. So, we walked the remaining 5 miles through the canyon ? There are hiking trails galore and plenty of places to rest and restrooms along the way.Most of our trek felt like we were the only ones in the canyon. It was Spectacular!
We made it to the end and caught the tram back down. Another great day in the books ?

A wonderful way to spend an afternoon. The shuttle trip is worth it. You can get off at any stop and hike or have a picnic.

Rode the old tram for years and years, moved away and when I came back this time I was hesitant to use the new ones. They're still AWESOME. Good thing I ordered my ticket the day before for no reason because the next morning, the day was sold out. Wild!!

This is a must do if you visit the Catalina Foothills. The tram ride was great, it picks up and drops off in various places for you if you can't walk too far. It has great trails and beautiful views. I would recommend going in the spring when it's not too hot and buy your tram tickets ahead of time.

Such a great time! I have ridden the tram up twice now, preferring to walk down. We got off at stop 3 this time and my 75 year old mom was able to navigate the paved walk back down to the parking lot just fine along with myself and daughter.

We happen to be there when all the flowers were blooming. We snapped somr great photos.

Rode bus up. Gorgeous views. Walked back down, but only halfway. If I had started earlier I probably could have walked back all the way to the start, with a short uphill at the end.

I'm a bit older with too much computer-chair time for Arizona walks and full hikes.

Sabino canyon is gorgeous. We did the seven falls hike so we only took the shuttle to the trailhead. It leaves every 25th and 55th minute of the hour and last shuttle is 4:25 pm. There is big enough parking for a trailer BUT you need to get there early to get enough space or one at all. There is overflow parking but I didn’t use it so I don’t know how big it is.

The hike is great for people of all ages. Some light bouldering, and lots and lots of water! You will get wet and dry in a you will need to hike in wet shoes because you will cross the creek of running water 7 times to get to the falls at the end. Taking the shuttle saves you 4 miles of hiking…. And it’s $4 a person.

We took the Sabino Canyon crawler round trip to the top of the canyon. Beautiful desert landscape. We saw many people walk up the canyon or take the crawler up and walk down.
