If you’re planning a Dora Canal tour, you’ll take a 30-minute covered boat ride to reach the canal itself. The initial 30 minutes can be a bit noisy, but once you’re in the canal, it’s quiet, no wake. If you have sensitive ears, consider bringing earplugs.

The captain was fantastic! We were a small group of 6, so we didn’t have a host. He was knowledgeable about birds and plants.

The scenery was absolutely stunning. The Spanish moss, an invasive species was everywhere.

We spotted birds and turtles, but unfortunately, we didn’t see any gators.

So this is the deal. The staff amazing! Mount Dora amazing! Had I known that I could've walked to the marina to see the display myself, I would have not taken the lights tour but instead I would've taken the sunset tour. That's on me. I would recommend upgrading to a sunset tour. Cruise the lake at dusk. It's beautiful, then walk over to the marina to see the light display. While it was really nice to be on the lake at night... the decorations and holiday lights around the lake were OK. The marina itself was amazing!!!!

I've been on the tour a couple times. This time I brought my dog out for her 3rd birthday! The staff was very welcoming and all told Aggie Happy Birthday! The people on the boat enjoyed her company. She had a fantastic 3rd birthday. Always support your local pet friendly businesses

Today was my first time on the Rusty Anchor boat tour of Mount Dora. We took the two-hour excursion of the canal and Lake Dora. The crew's knowledge of the wildlife and area was impressive. Different times of the year bring out various reptiles and birds, making each visit unique. Booking the tour was easy, and the price was very reasonable. Whether you're a long-time resident or new to Florida, this tour is fantastic. I will definitely be going again with friends visiting the area.

Lovely morning with a small group of passengers and a knowledgeable guide. Expertly captained across the lake to another world of green quiet waters, Spanish moss, birds, turtles, gators.

Ramiro and I have done this tour twice now. First the 2 hour tour and it was beautiful! Then we did the dinner sunset trip which took us to a great restaurant with plenty of time to take some pictures. I believe the restaurant varies but we were taken to Plane City in Taveres and loved it! The sunset on our way back was beautiful! Check out my pictures and videos.

Great spot for a boat ride!

You'll ride about 30 minutes on a covered boat if you're touring the Dora Canal to get to the canal itself.
For the first 30 minutes, the boat is rather loud until you get to the canal, which is a "no-wake" ride through, and it's quiet.
If your ears are sensitive, maybe grab plugs.

The captain and host were both great. The host had fitting jokes for the ride and was very knowledgeable. She knew various bird and plant species.

The scene was absolutely breathtaking. The Spanish moss was a sight to see.

We only saw a small gator head poking out of the water, but I went for the scenery of the canal.

They provide water in a cooler if you forget yours.
I did not see bathrooms, but there is a marina next door. I'm not entirely sure if it's linked to this business or not.

I definitely recommend!

Was a great time. 30 minutes to get to Canal and an hour in the Canal and 30 minutes back to the dock. Clean and was delightful. Saw birds and a few alligators and the Canal was really nice. Went at 10 am and it was a cool ride going to the Canal with the speed of the boat but once in the Canal it was very comfortable. Would definitely recommend it.
