I picked this motel because it was closest to family in Stafford Springs, CT.
This was a terrible mistake.
The motel is in a total state of disrepair. When you walk into the hotel lobby, you can smell odors and notice dirty carpet.
The elevator reminded me of an overused freight elevator that had been quite beaten up.
The desk attendant was apparently a family member with a kid and his bicycle in the lobby. Not professional.
The first room we were given had not been cleaned since the previous tenant. When I went back to complain, they gave us a different room that had no door crossbolt for security (it had been removed).
The "continental breakfast" that had been advertised was slices of white bread, baggies of corn flakes, some donut holes and coffee.
I decided to cancel my return reservation and discovered their no-refund policy.
A disgusting place. Choice Hotels should pull their franchise agreement, as this was THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN.
I hope everybody reads this before booking.

DON'T DO IT!
Arrived after 10pm, after a long day and long drive. Just looking forward to a good night's rest. The parking lot was not well lit. I could smell a strong "food" odor from outside the building, before I opened the door. It was stronger in the lobby. Not necessarily a bad smell...just overpowering, especially for that time of night. The carpets were in dire need of a cleaning (beyond just needing to be vacuumed.) There was someone walking heavy overhead in the first room we were given. The room had double beds. One had holes in the bedspread, and stains and hair on the sheets. The second bed also had hair on the sheets. We were given another room, on the third floor. This time the key wouldn't work. When the attendant came up to check, realized the room was already occupied. We chose to leave.
I will say the clerk was very apologetic and nice. He gave us no problems about our leaving or refunding our stay.

Absolutely horrible, the most disgusting place I have ever stayed in in my life even as beginning in the military. Wretched smells, soiled carpet, dirty shower. The front desk worker dissent even understand how to approach a service animal while with their handler plus child in hand.

The room all in itself is ok. The only thing I didn't like was that they didn't have a refrigerator nor a microwave 😭other than that it was ok. Heat worked great and 🚿 were hot.

Mold, smells like smoke, screaming babies all night and men and women fighting. Children all over the place. Never got a confirmation email. Charged me $250+ instead of $77 as advertised. Housekeeping argued with me through the door. Absolutely foul. I did NOT feel safe and would never return. Horrible.

Stayed with family for one night before college graduation early the next morning. The hallways and rooms reeked of smoke, so bad we had to switch rooms because the first was difficult to breathe in, let alone sleep. Not just smoke, but a harsh chemical smell too. We weren’t the only ones; someone in line ahead of us complained their son had an asthma attack from the smoke too.

Even with a new room, it did not get much better: we ran into a man sleeping in the floor in the hallway on the way there. Once we arrived, the mattresses and floors were disgusting and there were stains on the walls (see pictures). We had to use beach towels from the car instead of the questionable sheets provided. There was smelly mold in the bathroom and it obviously had not been cleaned in a while. Finally, as crazy as it sounds, they cut a hole in the packaged soap provided by the sink and REPLACED THE SOAP instead of giving us a new package. Not only cheap but extremely unsanitary…

Avoid this place if at all possible.

Id give give this place a zero if could. 2 star hotels are not always the worst places to stay but this one takes the cake. I walk in as two guest were getting a refund against listening to what they said I still checked in. The wall paper was falling off the walls, not only that I get into my room, and it smelt like pee. The bathroom had wallpaper hardly holding on, I had two children with me and my husband. So I smelt the bed after it took us 5min to open the window to try and get some air in there, I walk over by the bed because it had marker on it and the bed sheets were peed on. I was so angry I go back and decided we are leaving that's so gross all I got was would you like us to change your sheets no I want to now make a 3 hr drive at midnight home. Don't I mean don't waste you time or money here.

I reserved this hotel because I came to pick up a truck from Chicago, which is nearby (Truck stop-TA). I ​​had to stay because the driver urgently went to the hospital due to poor condition, and the inside of the truck was very dirty and covered in urine in the plastic bottles. And in the afternoon the cleaning service did not work. When the person at the front desk came into the hotel he said that there was a refrigerator and a TV. But the TV did not work, the refrigerator was not in the room. And the corridor smells of cigarettes, and there are empty plastic bottles on the table near the elevator and garbage for the second day. For breakfast I saw bread, jam, dry crispy cookies, round homemade buns. Everything in the photo that is shown in the kitchen is just an advertisement and I don’t see eggs, fruits, etc. Please read all the reviews carefully before registering a room at this hotel. Take care your nerves and money..I would give zero stars!!
