Protectworth Brewing in Newport, NH for a couple flights & a pint of some excellent craft beer. This is one brewery I had really wanted to check out for a bit now, but the distance had made it difficult, the trip ended up exceeding my expectations & was well worth my time. A good vibe from the second I stepped in with a small arcade corner with some 80's gaming staples & a heavy emphasis on a "Star Wars" theme, (the original trilogy thankfully) plus of course what I came in for, beer. I was delighted to see that there was a good amount of offerings here including a bunch of varying styles with a Scotch Ale which is a current favorite of mine. 🍻🍺💪🔥🔥

I had nine different beers while here, but I'll just talk about my favorite five. The 4oz taster of the COLE POND PALE ALE was a crisp 5.5%ABV above average bold pale ale containing some excellent flavor. The second taster was the GRANITE AMBER ALE Red Ale which has become one of my favorite styles over this winter season & this one f&%ked harder than most, good stuff. The third taster was the above average MORDECAI THE BROWN Brown Ale, which as I was working myself darker & darker here, was perfect before I got to the stout. The fourth taster was the DARTH SAURON 8.5%ABV Imperial Stout that lit my mouth on fire with flavor & mixing Star Wars with Lord of the Rings references probably made me enjoy it even more. I then finished off my trip with the smooth 7%ABV FULL KILT Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy which was delicious, with just the right balance of malty & smoky flavors. William Wallace would have been proud of this beer I'm sure. 🍻🔥🔥❄❄

A good amount of seating options packed the taproom with all the usual including bar, tables & hightops with outside seating during warmer weather. The Pizza Hero food truck was parked outside pumping out some pizzas for a few of the customers that showed up while we visited. One of the co-owner's Tim, who also is a brewer there was behind the bar slinging the goods & was very easy to talk to & definitely informative about his beers & operation. Always nice to meet & yap with the brewer if it's slow enough for them to converse with you. I was letting out audible borderline sexual gasps while drinking that Scotch Ale which must have been slightly weird, but it was a compliment. 🤷‍♂️ All & all well worth the trip into a part of New Hampshire I hadn't been to & hopefully I'll get the chance to go again in the next few years. 🍻🍻🔥💪✌♥️🍺

BEERGASM RATING - 69/92 I'LL PROBABLY COME AGAIN IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN, FOR THE BEER THAT IS. 🍻🍻🍻🍆🍆🍆💦💦💦💤💤✌♥️🍺

Love this brewery. Every beer is solid. The owners are hands-on and down to earth. They are the ones waiting on you and will answer any question you have because they seriously know their stuff. They don't serve food but always have a food truck in the parking lot (that's another review which i give a 2 star). So eat first, go in thirsty and soak in the atmosphere and great beer

The. Best. Trivia. Night. Ever! Adam (owner/operator) makes up the questions, the rules, and has final decision on all answers. But don’t let that deter you, it is the most fun my wife and I and our group have had at any trivia night! They have a wide range of their own beers on tap and Jeremy keeps your glass full. Pizza truck outside if you get hungry. I can’t possibly say enough about this small town small business. 12 out of 5 stars.

Excellent location since there are few breweries in this area. Great selection of different beers. Please add a Belgian style! Also, great that they have 4 seltzers. Our kids loved the video games and great that they have trivial pursuit on the tables and big screens for watching sports.
We especially loved the Son of Soltek and Mistborn IPAs.

Protectworth is a gem of a brewery. Puts the craft in craft beer. Do yourself a favor and get the Knockout Combo before it's gone. Chocolate coffee porter on nitro infused with homegrown jalapenos. Perfectly balanced sweet heat.
